No link, because Trump didn't say poophole.

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

Because our previous president, a man who was a better leader, better family man, and infinitely better human being in every conceivable way than Donald will ever be in a dozen lifetimes, had a father who came from one of those poophole countries.

Trump should not say such an arrogant words.

God has entrusted the poor people to the Richs,
remember the story of poor Lazarus that God must punish the Rich man who neglect him.

That is a terrible poem, and it is also very foolish to base actual policy on lackluster art.

While calling them poophole is definitely rude and not a way to go about it, essentially his point is sound.

You've put your policy decisions in the hands of a lackluster human being. I'd say the art is an improvement.

How so? What about the people?

Sometimes I try to imagine what it must be like to be a Trump apologist.

How does it feel to make excuses for behavior that you know you would never, ever excuse coming from anyone else, in any context?

My brain doesn't twist that far.

The comment was made in a closed-door meeting. Hard to find common ground with Trump if the Democrats run to the press every time he says something. Trump should make all the immigration meetings public, if they're going to be public anyway.

...or Trump could simply make his point without resorting to degrading language to describe the third world.

The point is that the comment was made...!

The ‘rudeness’ is immaterial...this man knows no other way to express himself. And his ‘point’ has its origins in the same body part that he uses to describe those countries...

Trump apologists have the most fantastic excuses. I mean really, just great. You won't believe how great their excuses are. The best excuses. Yuge excuses. Fantastic.

I really would like us all to just come out with our points and arguments in as clear and succinct a manner as possible.

What exactly is the point? What is your argument?
Should the US only accept immigrants from certain countries? Is that your point?

Should we only accept immigrants from a list of "non poop hole" countries?

What is the acceptable list of non poop hole countries?
And do we rank order the countries we do accept? Do we take 3 Brits for every Russian? Do we take 4 Japanese for every Chinese?

My point is that Trump is very much correct when he says we should not seek out individuals from countries like Haiti, as immigrants from nations such as Norway would benefit the United States more in significant ways.
