I instinctively laughed when I read the exchange then realized it's not funny at all that someone such as Bozell who influences the minds of many Americans propagates an absolute mistruth that will nevertheless be accepted as truth because it aligns with what Trump's base desires to believe.

It's reminiscent of 1984 - the notion that what is being said at this moment is the truth regardless of what was the truth earlier.

Gordon Sondland is Donald Trump's hand-picked Ambassador, who is like a walking quid pro quo having scored the nomination after making a contribution to Trump's campaign - and he just told the world what we know to be true: this president extorted a foreign government for his own political interests. He's a longtime Republican donor, a hotelier who had no diplomatic experience at all, but was given the position due to support of Trump. To his credit, he's bright enough to realize he was being used as a patsy.
