I would support this as I support anyone who exposes government misdeeds.

I disagree. Edward Snowden is an anarchist hooligan who compromised the security of our country with his morally unfounded actions. I personally don't care if the government sifts through my e-mails because I haven't done anything illegal. While I can see some people having privacy issues over this, it's important to understand the what the NSA does is conducive to the public safety of society. Do you really want another terrorist attack to happen on American soil? Then support the NSA.

Trump is only president of Mara-Cloggo!
How do you reckon he'll pull it off haha?

Where did I, or the link given even mention Trump?

What the article was about if you read it is
Your government is spying on you — again.

Whistleblower Edward Snowden revealed the National Security
Agency had bulk collected records of Americans' phone calls
and emails. Federal courts later found the practice was illegal

The CIA, however, literally plays by a different set of rules.
The agency's program exists "entirely outside the statutory
framework that Congress and the public believe govern this
collection, and without any of the judicial, congressional
or even executive branch oversight"

Do you like the government spying on people ?

I replied to the OP. Trump has zero power to pardon anyone, except for the Grey Poupon.

Sorry my bad.

Do you think the government should be spying on people ?

When it comes to snooping, the government keeps showing us
it doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt.

I completely agree with your last sentence.
No, I don't think our government should spy on citizens without a warrant. Yet I know they will behave however they like without accountability. It's another reason accountability is so essential. Even that FBI guy who falsified the FISA warrant needs prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. For his own punishment and also to deter the other "good guys" from acting criminally.

After watching the movie, Snowdon, I considered all parties involved. In the case of terrorism, what can governments do?
How are they to pre-empt surprise attacks? Let's not forget how many people died as a result of attacks like 9/11. How many lives were ruined after, and what of people's anxiety following?
If we have nothing to hide, then why would we be concerned?...
