I don't care. I have been dealing with others perceptions for far too long. I refuse to call good evil, or evil good. It is good to love your neighbor, and love those that oppose you. It is good to take care of the less fortunate, and seek solace amidst turmoil. These are good things. May God bless those who do them.

Politics and God..... God sees the heart, people judge perceived intentions. What I see are genuinely good, caring, and loving people that are sick of being viewed as evil just because they support Trump. I love this, because this is who I am to my core. Love one another. Help one another. Suffer for each other. Not Trump. He is a side issue. Not who I am.

Most Trump supporters deeply care about family and community. That is what support in Trump is about. A man who will defy those who allow our communities turn into trash heaps. Some want others to know that this, this, is what we stand for and what we believe. Let's clean our communities. Rebuild our infrastructure. Help our own homeless, poor and less fortunate before, not instead, before we help others. There is plenty that needs to be done here in America for our own people.

Why would I need your forgiveness for something I did not do? You think I judged you by my statement? Or do you NOT support his tweets?

The facts are right there that he is in fact causing the rise of White Nationalism.

You state that you are a "Follower of Jesus"

Do you think He approves of this hate that has been flourishing for 2 and one half years?

No, its just a way to amicably end a discussion in which there is no point to continue when one party makes wild accusations that he cannot back up with any credible example, source, or information. I accept that you believe what you believe, and there isn't any point in arguing about it. I do think you are taking a position that not only bears false witness, but is extremely harmful. But I doubt seriously that those doing that, including you, see that or believe it. So what I think isn't important. Let's let it go at that.

    Hi RLH,

No, I'm nowhere near Newark. However, I agree that it would be good for both parties, actually all political parties, to take on some civic responsibilities such as this, to promote themselves. Just think how awesome it would be to see a sea of red or blue t-shirted people walking along the highways and byways picking up trash on our streets. Even more awesome would be to see a sea of red and blue and purple walking along our roadways hand in hand picking up trash. Or a sea of those t-shirts out feeding the hungry or ministering to the heartbroken in our nursing homes, homeless shelters and such.

How great it would be, if we the people, could show those who represent us in our government that we can, in fact, work together to attack and help alleviate the problems of this world. That we can, as Republicans, Democrats and Independents work side by side to address the ills of this nation and that we expect them, as our representatives to do the same.

To put away this 'us vs. them' mentality that has suddenly become the mantra of all of our political party system. That would be what would MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! That we could put away these petty party politics to work together hand in hand to solve just one serious problem that our people suffer. Then, after we get that problem resolved, or at least looking better, we then put our hands together to work on the next serious problem that plagues our nation.

Trash - Hunger - Education - Poverty. These are all issues that each American should feel deeply enough to put away division and work together as Americans to resolve or at least make better.

    God bless,
    In Christ, ted

    Oh, the irony here:

I do think you are taking a position that not only bears false witness, but is extremely harmful.--Foxfyre

    from the quote above.

Do reflect on just what "false witness" entails. And no, a thing---- like a "position" cannot do anything. That was just your way of claiming that I bore false witness.

Of course it was a political stunt - it was done by a political group. It was a brilliant political stunt. It proved precisely the point that Trump was making about Rep. Cumming's district, and in a manner that followed the biblical principle of not returning evil with evil, but with good. It's beyond reproach; there's no way to criticize it without without coming across as petty, vindictive and spiteful. "But it makes us look bad!" is not effective criticism at all. Yes, go tell the whole world that you care more about your own self-image than the welfare of your neighbors, and expect to be taken seriously when you call into question the motives of those who have been rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands dirty to help your neighbors. By all means, see how well that goes down...

If democrats truly think helping people is wrong, then why aren't they demanding these illegal immigrants go back to their own countries and fix their own problems?

The U.S. is our problem, and its people/citizens our responsibility. We wouldn't allow a hoarder to live in their own filth if we knew of the issue, we would help them.

We don't allow mentally ill be without help, and we care about the poor and the homeless.

I'm happy those people helped clean up that neighborhood.. it was a good thing.

I can't understand the complainers. But it's a nice feel good story when we see people helping others.

How can a political "stunt" be considered good?
You as a Christian should recognize that a stunt is just that-- a means to deceive others.

What does Jesus Paul say about deceiving?

    2 Thessalonians 2:3
Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition,

Maybe from Christ Himself in the Olivet Discourse about the Last Days:

    Matthew 24:4
And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you".

But, at least you admitted it was a political "stunt"

The deception would be if they said they did it but did not.

    No I didn’t say that.

Maybe take a look at the work done and the response of the local citizens benefiting from this good act.

The article cites the cleanup crew as "Trump supporters"... But since when do Trump supporters just happen to hang out together in organized groups? I know I'm a Trump supporter, but I don't actively seek out other Trump supporters to hang out with. And I certainly don't go doing good deeds with other people based solely on their political affiliation.

If your going to suddenly jump into a debate that I am having with someone else, maybe you ought to catch up and maybe you should take it your argument up with him/ her.

This is precisely what he said.

Of course it was a political stunt - it was done by a political group. --SoldierOfTheKing

I did not say it did not happen and admittedly there was a bit of good will, but the crux of it that is was a "political stunt"--if you want to be decieved by their motives that is your business.

But for me, I am trying to eliminate believing in deceptions from any and all corners of the political spectrum, with my Bible in hand. Despite the things that some of the other posters have said, one should not need a {political] motivation to do good deeds for others---especially if one calls themselves a Christian.

A political motive is not necessarily a bad one, and as I mentioned earlier, nitpicking about their motives is petty and spiteful.

Oh God can and does make lemonade out of lemons to be sure. Seen and had that so many times in my life through a lot of tribulations.

But then we are really talking about honesty with political motives that are meant to deceive. Seems to me when a person is trying to deceive or has as his motive to deceive--there goes the honesty. Fooled you did it not? Or maybe it was only what you wanted to hear.

The mainstream media controls the narrative. As a result, the narrative always follows the lines of "Trump is evil! He must be somehow involved in this!" The resulting conversations usually start from that point of view.
