The Democrats are dividing their support among the many candidates. The Republicans essentially only have 1 candidate. This easily explains why he is raising more money than the Democratic contenders.

As far as drawing crowds, crowd size has nothing to do with popularity. Everyone acknowledges that Trump has a strong base which represents ~35% of the voting populace. These supporters are much more enthusiastic than most political supporters. Being worshipped by a small segment doesn't mean one is "popular" in terms of overall support within the US. Of course, you know that, but continue to put forth his crowd size as a measure of his overall popularity/approval.
