I didn't say he was widely popular, just the only reasonable choice at the time.

Hillary was a pretty uninspiring candidate I suppose. She has the govt experience but seems to lack the necessary charisma to get people to vote for her.

No matter what happens to him it will launch a massive assassination conspiracy industry.

Maybe the Scottish will do him in for bringing shame on his heritage. Involving golfballs would be apt.

She did get the 'popular' vote however.

Relevance?

I thought the tweet was crystal clear but here goes nothing.

Why wasn’t he told to go back to his own country and fix the problems there before telling the US how to do it? He unlike three of the four Trump was talking about, was actually born in a different country that he could conceivably go back to.

“Go back where you came from” is one of the oldest racist tropes there is.

Your President is either a racist, or he plays one on TV.
The latter. Also on Twitter.

If we follow the golden rule of love others as you would want to be loved, then Trump has said the wrong thing and no good will come from it. People should not defend him when he does this because they suppress the Truth only to serve vanity.

It was a reasonable retort considering the attack on him by the "Gang of Four" (I'm giving them a new handle).
Racism is never reasonable.

It is never, ever, acceptable to tell a citizen of your own country to go back to where they came from (as if they are a foreigner and don't belong). Obviously Trump's criteria on whether a person belongs to USA or not is based on skin colour/race rather than citizenship or birthplace. That's racism, right?

This is such a cliched phrase from bigots and racists.
Non bigots and non racists never say this phrase.

Think about it.
Have you ever said this phrase to someone who is a citizen of your country?
Would you ever say this phrase to someone who is a citizen of your country?
Would you say this to a white person who is a citizen of your country?
Would you say this to a person who is a minority ethnicity and a citizen of your country?

Is this acceptable behaviour from your president?
Do you want to encourage this behaviour in your society?
Are you going to start behaving this way?
Are you going to encourage your children to behave this way?

Three of them "originated" in the United States. All four of them are United States citizens.
Ocasio-Cortez's "country of origin" if you want to go back a generation or two, is Puerto Rico which is part of the United States. You would have to go back many generations indeed to find Pressley's "country of origin" in Africa.
Yeah but,
Trump thinks his own father came from Germany. (actually he was born in USA)
But Trump's grandfather did come from Germany.
Which means Ocasio-Cortez is more American than Trump, doesn't it?

Or else perhaps they are both Americans. Hmmm, so confusing.

How do we know he is being racist? Do we know that he wouldn't say the same thing to white person who's family had recently immigrated from a European country?
Do you have any examples of Trump telling a white USA citizen to go back to the country they came from?
Please post references.

As well, someone's negative experience with minorities (or the majority) is as valid as another's positive experience. Both can be useful in reconciling differences.
The problem is in making generalisations based on colour or race.
Typically made on people of a different colour or race to one's self.

To have an experience with a "Mexican" and then to judge all Mexicans to therefore be the same as this Mexican is racism pure and simple.

Each person is an individual. All races have lazy people and extremely hardworking people, criminals and law abiding, scoundrels and heroes.
