Good. Now it's up to the Senate to make the right call, and prevent Trump from ever holding public office again.

I wish the Senate would come back to attend to this ASAP.

By definition, he is impeached. That is what the house did today. Alan is wrong. Since the senate won't hold a trial until after the 20th, he cannot be removed from office. Different thing.

The logistical reality is that no previous impeachment process was completed in a single week, and the Senate is currently out of session until the 19th.

Based on McConnell's statements, it's obviously going to fall to the next Senate to put Trump on trial. I hope that he's convicted and he loses his pension and healthcare benefits. I don't want to put another public dime in Treasonous Trump's pocket.

    So...
If what you are saying is true can we go back and impeach any private citizen?
If it was true they never would have stopped Nixon's.

And you received your law degree where? Dershowitz taught constitutional law at Harvard for 49 years.

No, but it doesn't matter. Trump was impeached this afternoon, while he was still in office.

Oh for the love of Pete.

The first line of the article:
It doesn't say what the headline says it does.

The key phrase is "successfully impeaching and removing". I've already agreed that he can't/won't be removed from office.

The house voted to impeach him. The word impeach is similar to indict. There will be a trial. Period. He is impeached. That is what the indictment is.

This is high school civics, folks.

    Nope.
    Sorry.
No vote or trial in the Senate means no vote or trial in the Senate. Meaning that there's no impeachment.

Senate is in recess and going to stay that way until it's too late.

Alan Dershowitz is a reigning scholar and expert in these sorts of things. He was Donald's council in previous proceedings. He should know. He is a constitutional scholar.

He has the knowledge and experience to know. Others are simply hopeful wishing.

The article lied about what Dershowitz said. He merely said that Trump almost certainly will not be removed from office.

What do these people think? That Trump has never been impeached since he wasn't removed from office? SMH

I wonder if those "law abiding" Democrats are going to apply the same diligence when dealing with Democrats who advocated violence against Republicans in general and Trump supported specifically? Silly me, of course not. And nobody over there sees anything wrong with this double standard.

The ONLY chance was actually the 25th. (Incapable/incapacity)
Pence would be needed to agree. That ain't happening either.

    Too late to do anything.

Nothing to do but get ready for more riots on the Capitol.
