That sounds like the reaction Trump got when he banned travel from China. The WHO said it wasn't necessary. Now Trump is being criticized for not banning travel from China soon enough.

If Canada has a serious outbreak of the virus Canadians will cross the border for better health care.

Cross the border to here for better health care?

Troops along the Canadian border.

Honestly, this is almost insulting. But I'd wager 90% of Americans would at least find this a bit weird.

I'm sure the majority at least think it's a weird to bad idea.
Trump looking to put troops near Canadian border amid coronavirus fears

Yeah....Canadians are NOT going down there guys. Sorry.

Gonna say shouldn't it be Canadian troops keeping the American's out? trump would do better making sure someone was actually making working testing kits.

The United States has the highest quality health care in the world. When Natasha Richardson was injured in Montreal the doctors recommended to lliam Neeson that he have her taken to the United States for treatment because she was beyond hope where she was.

Natasha Richardson - Wikipedia

When king Hussein of Jordan was dying of cancer he came to the United States for treatment.

... for those who can afford it.

Of course, we also have the most expensive health care in the world, so they kind of cancel each other out, don't you think?

Try to be serious.

Apparently Natasha Richardson and/or King Hussein of Jordan are going to fly here for COVID-19 treatment... or something.

It is true that the USA has some of the finest medical facilities in the world but sadly it comes at such a cost that it is not an option for the average person.

last check the US was ranked #37 in healthcare. While it is great for rare conditions, its overall care is not great, and extremely overpriced.

10X as many americans leave the US for medical care as those who come here for it.

That's not a health care SYSTEM is 98% of people can't access that level of care.

Lol you couldn't pay me enough to go to the US and use your health care.

My US friend pays out $300 a month for her very needed meds and can't always afford them and she gets sick and the local hospital won't even accept her insurance. I pay about $100 every 3 months for my very needed meds. I will stay right here.

From the link.

American government officials inside Donald Trump’s White House are actively discussing putting troops near the Canadian borders in light of U.S. border security concerns around the new coronavirus pandemic, sources tell Global News.

then look here:

Travel Advice and Advisories for United States

Those racist Canadians are restricting travel.

Looks more like they are advising not to rather than restricting.

Canadian-US border closing is unlike anything we've seen before (Opinion) - CNN

Canadian-US border closing is unlike anything we've seen before

However, on Wednesday, at a time when major coronavirus mitigation decisions are being made with mind-numbing speed by governments worldwide, US President Donald Trump tweetedthat "we will be, by mutual consent, temporarily closing our Northern Border with Canada to non-essential traffic. Trade will not be affected."
The unprecedented closure, even though it allows wide exemptions for groups like seasonal workers, is the most far-reaching travel restriction in terms of geography covered -

gee....yeah I mean not like you would complain about shutting the chicken coop affter the fox got into it, and saying, "Maybe you should have shut it sooner." yes trump should have closed the border sooner, doing so AFTER the virus already hit the town is a bit late.

*laughs* ....completly missed the great joke in here, yeah...better health care, we get free health care and anything serious gets dealt with imediatly but sure...we want to go down to the states where it costs a arm and a leg.

To give you perspective on how terrible the Canadian health care system is.

I went to the ER twice over 12 months, once for pnemonia I caught after the flu, once for bronchitis, was given a couple of x-rays, along with a steroid asthma type inhaler to help with my cough, all for the big big price of 0$'s.

Elective surgies take a while, but when were sick we get help imediatly.

I have another horror story. Two years ago I went to the doctor complaining of lethargy. He did a quick work up and said "Your heart rate is far too slow." I saw the heart specialist the following day and several days after that I received a pacemaker. It cost me $5.00 for a parking spot at the hospital. oh, when will it ever end?
