Trump will resign.

And, in his mind, it won’t be in disgrace. He’ll make some grand statement such as “for the good of my family”, or “I’ve achieved all the great things that I planned for the country”.

But the end is nigh...practise your swearing-in speech Michael...

I think this article does a good job of analyzing BuzzFeed's claims. To summarize:

  • White House Deputy Press Secretary on Fox News this morning, when pressed, would not say that the BuzzFeed story was false.
  • One of the BuzzFeed co-authors, Anthony Cormier, claims not to have seen the documents that would back up Cohen's story.
  • The BuzzFeed co-author, Jason Leopold, was about slippery about if he has actually seen the evidence. The author of this article states, "he’s not necessarily saying that he’s seen documentary evidence of the specific claim made last night, that Trump told Cohen to lie to Congress under oath. He’s saying that he’s seen some documents in the course of reporting on the Trump Tower Moscow probe."
  • The documentation was not mentioned in Cohen's plea agreement.
  • Buzzfeed is claiming the President broke a law, one that could get him removed from office, despite a Republican Senate. They also know that the truth of their claims will be release "soon" -- maybe a month, at most a few months, when Mueller's report is released. If they are wrong, they will lose any credibility they have built, and it will be years before they can hope to become a credible news source (more likely it will kill their news reporting business). So they would appear to be very confident about the veracity of this story to be defending it to this degree.
  • Although not actually about Buzzfeed, he points out that Cohen is not, as some claim he is, "Trump’s right-hand man, the stooge who knows where all the bodies are buried within the Trump Organization." Instead, that would actually be Allen Weisselberg, Trump's CFO, who was granted immunity last year; and it is still unknown what information he gave to Mueller that allowed him to be granted immunity.

If Trump truly believed he was allowed to negotiate any deals he wanted, why did he repeatedly insist he had no business relationships or projects in Russia, when those claims were hard and fast lies?
Maybe because there is no business relationship or project. The project and the relationships around it were abandoned. They never materialized. They do not exist. So where is the hard and fast lie?

Abandoning something doesn't mean it's not a problem. As was mentioned back when donald junior tried the excuse of, "We didn't get anything from them." it was brought up that you can still be charged with conspiracy even if you fail to do it, like hiring a undercover cop for a assasination, or buying drugs from the police, the fact that you wer never going to get something, is no defense against trying. Just because the deal didn't go through doesn't make the deal potentially problematic or ilegal.

Once again there was never anything about a private business man looking into a project in Russia that is against the law. Lets stick to the facts and not get into speculation about potentially problematic issues that did not and have not happened

No, there isn't. However, there are legal issues involved with lying to Congress, particularly ordering a subordinate to lie to Congress -- which is the crime being discussed here. The fact remain, Trump had plans to build a hotel in Russia, and relationships had been built to make it come to pass. Trump then (at least allegedly) ordered Cohen to deny that plan existed -- that is a crime called Subornation of perjury (again, if the allegations in this article are true) and a primary reason Nixon's impeachment was proceeding before he resigned.

I would agree that if in fact, and the facts have yet to be established all we have is unverified reports, Trump ordered such a thing he has a real serious problem. My point was that there was no reason or motivation for him to try to cover up something that was not a crime to begin with, so there is doubt that he would have done that.

I can think of a number of reasons that he would want to keep the deal secret. If the means by which it was being financed were a bit shady, for example...

Pure speculation on your part and there was no deal so there was not any financing.

But just as the facts are not established, we don't know that there is no motivation for Trump to order someone to lie. That is what we hope will come to light, if it is true and possible motivations, when Mueller's report is released.

Of course we’re speculating. But while we are, we can still come up with plausible reasons for the alleged lying and secrecy. If Trump had been planning for the possibility of a deal in Russia, then the financing of that deal would be up for discussion as well. Who’s to say that those discussions weren’t with some shady customers (he’s dealt with similar people in the past...hello Felix Sater...) that he might want to keep quiet about?

Like who? Like Jerome Corsi.

"The special counsel and his prosecutorial staff threatened to indict Dr. Corsi, who is now 72 years old, and effectively put him in jail for the rest of his life, unless Dr. Corsi would provide the false testimony that they demanded, even after being informed that the testimony desired would be false," says the 78-page document. "This is criminal."

Corsi files formal complaint against Mueller

From your source...

“Mimi Rocah, who served as an assistant U.S. attorney for New York's Southern District, described Corsi's claims as "patently ridiculous."

"This is somebody who doesn't like the fact that he's being caught in his lies," said Rocah, now a Pace University law professor and legal analyst for NBC News and MSNBC.”

The Special Council's office has now gone on record stating Buzzfeed's article about Cohen being directed to lie by Trump is not accurate.
Wow now there is a shock.....Fake News strikes again.....You would think the public would be wise to the game by now...... but then some people just hate Trump so much that they desperately want to believe anything...The Russians no doubt enjoying this, they are sitting back letting the American press go to all extremes to destroy an American president....and half of the American people cant wait for it to happen... What a country.
