In the beginning God created the Trump and the Earth?

At least that seems to be the way he remembers it.

Which one was without form and void?

to appeal to his core that care about nothing other than the appearance of being godly.

"his core" includes the vast majority of Protestant evangelicals. They were critical in his election, and support almost all his actions by a 80% or so margin. They will likely vote for him in November again, in large numbers.

Declaring folks domestic terrorists now.

Pay close attention, America. It's Black Lives Matter this time. It could be Democrats next, or Muslims, or whatever.

For all the talk during the Obama years about how certain legislation or discussions were 'a step closer' to 'persecuting Christians' or 'stripping rights', this is a step closer to tyranny and oppressive government, and a step closer than you've probably been since the inception of your country.

...or it could be Christians who act on the words of the Bible that Trump so cynically held in front of a church.

It's like he playing with religious conservatives to see how far he can go while still maintaining their loyalty.
Episcopalians with a WOMAN Priest! Most evangelical Christians aren't bothered about the President's stunt, IMHO.

Yeah, I'm sure it being a liberal church made it easier for the fundies to stomach.
Franklin Graham thanked him for this action:
Franklin Graham

Robert Jeffress praised him for it:
Dr. Robert Jeffress

(I can't seem to link to the individual posts, but they're both some of the most recent)

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if they actually approve of this, given how much they dislike the Episcopal Church.

I'm not sure he will lose any votes.

A quote I saw on twitter:

Nobody voted for Donald Trump because they thought he was a skilled communicator, charismatic leader, creative problem solver, brilliant intellect, or selfless humanitarian.

They voted for him because he hated the same people they did.

To be fair, some people (including some Sanders supporters) voted for him because they found Clinton to be more objectionable.

Graham's post is pretty generic. It's hard to say whether he knew at the time that the priests had been gassed or the protesters gassed to get the picture. I was pleasantly surprised to see a post about being on the side of having the officer arrested, and a nice post about George Floyd, even though it seemed as a praise to cover the criticism of the protesting.

Jeffress only had one post I saw that addressed recent events which was
Thank God for a President like Donald J. Trump who is intent on protecting our great country from anarchists who are trying to destroy it. As the Bible says, “Sin is lawlessness” (1 John 3:4).‬

Every other post was promoting his book or fox news appearances.

To link individual posts, click the time of the post 19 hrs, Yesterday at x:xx pm etc, and it will open up a new window/page where you can copy the url that goes directly to the post.

Fair enough, but even if you ignore the tear gas, the degree of shameless pandering was stomach-turning.
