There are legitimate deductions. More than half the money in a traditional IRA I just opened has already been taxed. Am I supposed to pay taxes on it a second time or am I allowed to fill out a Form 8606 to deduct those taxes? What numbers am I supposed to crunch?

No, I don't. I hope they leave my deduction in. However, I think they lowered the rate and doubled the standard deduction.
