It’s polite to call leaders who have just won an election to congratulate them. Though I don’t think the UK will be doing so, given the chemical weapon attack, almost certainly on the orders of Putin, in Salisbury.

I can fault Trump for a lot of things but not for that. It's refreshing to see him show any kind of diplomacy norms, even if it is with Russia. At least Putin actually got the most votes in his election.

The leader of the Free World just congratulated Putin for winning a blatantly corrupt and completely broken election process.

Feel the winning.

What a tragedy. It's another sad day for a nation that has stood up for human dignity often in the past.

What about the millions of Latvians that voted illegally? Were it not for them Putin would’ve won 100% of the vote. Russia needs a big beautiful wall!

Would be a bit dumb to use a chem weapon that primarily suggests Russia, wouldn't it?
And they're not the only ones who can make / have made it.

Our historical support of nations that recognize human dignity is checkered at best. We do so when it suits our purposes and ignore it when it does not.

And they're not the only ones who can make / have made it.

When the previous splashy assassination happened with Polonium, the point was precisely to send a message to everyone that Russia can strike Russians who don't toe the line no matter what country they are in. The point was to be sure everyone knew it was Russian revenge.

Alexander Litvinenko was a former officer of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) and KGB, who fled from court prosecution in Russia and received political asylum in the United Kingdom.

On 1 November 2006, Litvinenko suddenly fell ill and was hospitalized. He died three weeks later, becoming the first confirmed victim of lethal polonium-210-induced acute radiation syndrome.[1] Litvinenko's allegations about the misdeeds of the FSB and his public deathbed accusations that Russian president Vladimir Putin was behind his unusual malady resulted in worldwide media coverage.[2]

Subsequent investigations by British authorities into the circumstances of Litvinenko's death led to serious diplomatic difficulties between the British and Russian governments. ...
Poisoning of Alexander Litvinenko - Wikipedia

... In his books, Blowing up Russia: Terror from Within and Lubyanka Criminal Group, Litvinenko described Russian president Vladimir Putin's rise to power as a coup d'état organised by the FSB. He alleged that a key element of the FSB's strategy was to frighten Russians by bombing apartment buildings in Moscow and other Russian cities.[6] He accused Russian secret services of having arranged the Moscow theater hostage crisis, through their Chechen agent provocateur, and having organised the 1999 Armenian parliament shooting.[7] He also stated that the terrorist Ayman al-Zawahiri was under FSB control when he visited Russia in 1997.[8]

Upon his arrival in London, he continued to support the Russian oligarch in exile, Boris Berezovsky, in his media campaign against the Russian government.[9]

Just two weeks before his death, Litvinenko accused Putin of ordering the assassination of Anna Politkovskaya.[10]

Not if Putin is sending a message it is not. The reaction from Russia, past history, indicate the Russia and Putin are the likely culprit.

But hey guys... there was no collusion! NO PUPPET!

So calling to congratulate Putin is a sign of collusion and being a puppet? Hmmm...

  • United States: Trump spoke with Putin on Tuesday and congratulated him on his victory.
  • China: Fellow strongman Xi Jinping sent Putin a congratulatory message, according to the state-run Xinhua News Agency: "Currently, the China-Russia comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership is at the best level in history, which sets an example for building a new type of international relations featuring mutual respect, fairness and justice, cooperation and all-win results, and a community with a shared future for mankind."
  • France: President Emmanuel Macron congratulated Putin on the phone Sunday, despite tensions over the poisoning of Sergei Skripal in the U.K.: "In the name of France, the French president offered Russia and the Russian people his wishes for success with the modernization of the country on the political, democratic, economic and social fronts," the Elysee said in a statement.
  • Germany: Chancellor Angela Merkel sent Putin a congratulatory telegram Monday: "Dear Mr. President, with all my heart I congratulate you on your reelection as Russian president. Today, it is vitally important to continue dialogue and maintain relations between our countries and nations. With this in mind, we should take efforts for constructive work on major bilateral and international problems to find proper solutions. I wish you success in your work to resolve the tasks facing you."
  • Other countries who sent congrats: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Saudi Arabia, Bolivia, Cuba, Venezuela
Seems we have enough puppets to make a Muppet Show episode

What if that's what they want you to point the finger at, whoever is actually behind it?
