Trump twice made clear that DACA and wall money was an acceptable deal, both in the meeting with Chuck and Nancy, and in his response to Senator Feinstein when the bi-partison proposal of 6 senators was being trashed last week.

He spoke today making it clear that DACA could be passed, only with lots, lots more.
1) full funding of the wall (not just the next year or two)
2) ending of chain migration
3) ending of lottery
4) initiation of a merit system

These items were to be considered for discussion after the passing of the DACA/wall bill in the discussions of just a week ago. Obviously if the last 3 are to be discussed, then the status of the 11 million undocumented and the status of Haitians., Guatemalans, and Salvadorans would be included in the discussions, if Democrats votes are to be expected, as would be necessary, since the Republicans are split on any immigration issue.

If this is Trump's position, perhaps this issue can be discussed in his hotels after the government is closed down on Friday night.

I suspect that Trump forgets that DACA was delayed until March, and now until 2019. Even CHIP funding has been extended through March. Trump will consider what he will need to give the Democrats for a CR of even another couple of months.

DACA is now probably not enough for Democrats to approve the wall, extend FISA, and the large increases in military spending. The Democrats will likely want the usual match between increases in military and non-military non-discretionary spending. DACA may or may not be dealt with now.

We'll now see the results of Trump's great strategy of negotiations with the Democrats, starting with the non-agreements with Chuck and Nancy. He could have TWO additional wins by now (DACA and the wall), following the tax cut victory. Instead, well we'll see.

The first one was never going to happen with or without DACA.....

Shoot, does he even know what the full funding figure is?

Some have said $20B or $30B over 10 years. Trump has said that he could have it built in a year for lots less. The proposal of the senators included what Trump's folks had in the budget for 2018; that is, they included the requested Trump amount for 2018. If trump "needed" a bit more (even double) because he wanted to get this done on a greatly accelerated basis, he only needed to ask, or put in his budget. Otherwise, it is unreasonable to approve an amount that has no reasonable thought of being spent.
