President Donald Trump took part in an event celebrating Diwali Tuesday at the White House alongside several administration officials.

"Our nation is blessed to be home to millions of hardworking citizens of Indian and southeast Asian heritage, who enrich our country in countless ways. Together we are one proud American family," Trump said. "I'm grateful to have numerous Americans of Indian and southeast Asian heritage who fulfill critical roles across my administration, and they've done an incredible job."

True, most pagans like Hindus are ignorant (Acts 17:22) about the Lord being the Only God. Our God, however, specializes in the impossible (Luke 18:27). Hindus will be saved along with others the Lord has called from other religions

You have to keep the 1 billion Indians happy after all and go through the motions. The Veterans of the United States understand, we have been ignored by Presidents in the past.

I think all US citizens are to be respectful of other people, not necessarily their religion.

I don't have any problem with the President showing the people respect in this way.

It's great to see the President actually being Presidential.

Not to be cynical, but it pays to be on good terms with India. It will have increasing economic importance in the years to come. I've seen projections that by 2050, India will have the 2nd largest GDP in the world, after China. We'll be #3.
