Quite a prejudiced thread title, isn't it? It's evident that the disrespectful question and behavior of the person asking the first question did not deserve much better. It's supposed to be a press conference, not some sort of "get the president" game.

I saw this clip an hour or so ago. This exchange perfectly illustrates the behavior of a bully, one who, when he loses control and cannot regain it, retreats.
Interestingly, a few minutes earlier in this same event, another reporter asked, in regard to those accusations against Obama, what crime, exactly, was Trump accusing Obama of committing? As soon as I heard the question I said to my wife, "He's not going to answer that question!" Then we both watched and listened as Trump bobbed and weaved and obfuscated, and never answered the question. (I tried and could not quickly find the video of the entire event. Sorry.)
So once again, as with the "Birther" thing, Trump makes a sweeping accusation of something terrible, gives no specifics, and keeps repeating it rather than back down when challenged.

They are supposed to test in order for people to know the threat level in their community. If they test positive, they must quarantine themselves for the good of the nation. With track and trace others along their path might be found and tested. In some nations quarantine of COVID patients is enforced by law. Fines were imposed on those who refused to obey.

Donald Trump will say anything at any time to anyone if he thinks it will gain him some adulation or a momentary advantage.
Now, let's try at least to be serious. If you think that his decision to end the press conference abruptly was not polite, it shows absolutely no objectivity or fairmindedness to talk as though the questioning by that reporter was not itself boorish.

And then in good ol' Jim Acosta fashion, she refused to shut up when someone else was called upon for the next question. No, none of that seems to have mattered at all to the armchair critics.

Sad how low his supporters have had to bring their expectations down to continue defending such shameful behavior.

Well, a role model, by definition, sets the standard for behavior.

How so ?

It's much more a case of one of those, as yet, "unspoken questions" which has been on many people's minds.

The question really is ... "Why are you falsely advertising that the US is doing more testing than anywhere else ?"

The truth is that the US is now doing more testing quantitatively, but not "per capita". We are testing more "per capita" than South Korea, which was singled out today. But we fall below Italy, Spain, the UK, New Zealand, Canada, and Denmark in that measure.

The president also continued to insist that all Americans have access to testing. Something that we also know is not true ...

If Donald feels the urge to remind people that he can out-boor the Enemies of the American people, he needn't have bothered.

Nevertheless, Your approval is noted.

Her colleague allowed her to finish her question ... in typical journalistic fashion ...

People are dying all over the globe, and I have watched news from other countries...we all (just about) have something in common. The testing issue. For weeks now we have heard nothing but SHAME on the government for the testing not being to where the reporters think it should be. Look at this country, and how they can do it, etc. He comes out with his medical expert to show how things have progressed, and how the comparisons they have used for the number of weeks don't apply at this point.

Now she wanted to know why he talks about it the way he does - competition. It isn't because its been framed that way in the media for weeks. lol that can't be it (sarcasm)!!

She asked a stupid question - and there were a couple of other ones too that were really dumb from others. As she said people are dying everyday, and YEP the first thing they want to know is why he is treating testing as a competition. No doubt the first question on a person's mind is that one. (eye rolls) If we could turn that around? Her question no doubt gave them a smile knowing someone finally asked it. (eye rolls)

He has been saying for weeks on end that China is responsible for the deaths, but this nitwit thinks he only mentions it because she is present? Now, that was about as intelligent as her question.

Do these news outlets NOT have any capable reporters they can send? Seriously. They gripe and complain about how bad he is, but they aren't winning any awards themselves.

My problem is that he didn't answer the question that she asked. China would have no way of knowing why Trump keeps saying the US is doing more testing than any other country and why it seems to be a competition for him and yet he said "Ask China" an answer that made no sense.
He could have taken the time to answer the question that she asked, couldn't he?

A leader should willing and able to answer even a stupid question and if their response makes sense the person asking the question looks just as stupid as their question.
If the leader can't or won't answer the question they either don't have a good answer or they are too arrogant to answer it.

When my kids, even mouthy teenagers, have asked me why I have always given them the reason why.

Honestly ... he's been saying that we've been doing more testing than everybody else for weeks now ... and that's not true ... on a "per capita" basis.

Per capita, we're not doing as much as Spain, Italy, the UK, Denmark, Canada, and New Zealand.

South Korea, who we are beating per capita, got it's spread under control very early on ... and is now averaging about 20 new cases per day.
