...another promise kept...oh wait.

President Trump on Wednesday announced that he is disbanding a controversial voter fraud commission launched last year in the wake of his baseless claim that he lost the popular vote to Democrat Hillary Clinton in 2016 because of millions of illegally cast ballots.

...and in true Trump fashion, the states are blamed for its demise:

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said there is “substantial evidence of voter fraud” and blamed the ending of the commission on the refusal of many states to provide voter data sought by the commission and the cost of ongoing federal lawsuits.

I somehow get the idea he's be darned if he followed through and darned if he didn't.
He found out that he would have lost in court.

The commission is being continued. As for its work to date, over 8000 cases of voters voting twice have been discovered, along with almost 1000 convictions for voter fraud since the end of the Clinton administration.

I'm sure Trumps claims were false/ very untrue . And they wouldn't stay loyal to him. So it's time to get rid of them. We will see this happen many times with Trump.

Well, it turns out they weren't. But neither was it possible to investigate very efficiently with the main group that favors vote fraud--the Democrats--pledged to obstruct at every turn. So, the commission continues on, but now it's shifted to the oversight of the Department of Homeland Security.

The states did the right thing when they followed their State Constitutions and voter privacy laws.
Could not one argue, that politics is the public sphere... and that person's politics affects all of their countrymen & women... so their politics is not private? Why doesn't everyone have a right to know your views ( on public voting matters ) ?

As of this moment, the US Congress still votes by acclamation. There can be no fraud. The public matters of Congress are public record. Everyone knows where there countrymen & women stand... because Congress members actually physically stand up to be counted.

The public retains political power because, in effect, the public counts the votes.

Should the US Congress also begin voting privately by secret ballots?

Just release the total votes each way?

You could have an oversight commission ask around once in a while...

If Americans stood up to be counted like their Congress members, in the open, then all uncertainties would be swept away in a single swoop.

They did? I'm having trouble finding numbers and results. Do they have a report somewhere we can read/download?
