BACs are new creations in Christ, they have the Holy Spirit.
BACs have the whole counsel of God (the Bible).
BACs have been set free from being slaves of sin, etc.

“God’s will is for you to be holy … live in holiness and honor
… God has called us to live holy lives, not impure lives.
So, anyone who refuses to live by these rules is rejecting God.” (1 Thessalonians 4:3-8)

“God has given us everything we need to live a godly life …
work hard to prove that you really are among those God has called and chosen …
It would be better if they had never known the way to righteousness than to know it
and then reject the command they were given to live a holy life” (2 Peter 1:3, 1:10, 2:21)

“God’s discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness …
work at living a holy life, for those who are NOT holy will NOT see the Lord …
Be careful that you do not refuse to listen to the One who is speaking.”
(Hebrews 12:10-25)

“For I want you to understand what really matters,
so that you may live pure and blameless lives” (Philippians 1:10)

“For God saved us and called us to live a holy life.” (2 Timothy 1:9)

“He chose them to become like his Son (i.e. righteous and holy)” (Romans 8:29)

“… work towards complete holiness because we fear God” (2 Corinthians 7:1)

“… teach them to know the truth that shows them how to live godly lives.” (Titus 1:1)

Paul is writing only to “the faithful” (1:1), i.e. obedient, believers in Ephesus

“Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us
in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes.” (Ephesians 1:4)

“… throw off your old sinful nature … Put on your new nature,
created to be like God – truly righteous and holy.” (Ephesians 4:22-24)

“He did this to present her (the church) to himself as a glorious church
without spot or wrinkle or any other blemish.” (Ephesians 5:27)

Believers have been chosen and called to be sanctified (set apart for holiness).
This means they are called to CHOOSE to live holy consecrated lives!
Through the power of the Holy Spirit, believers CAN live holy lives.

Christ in us is our righteousness, God see's Him not us. We are righteous in Christ not of ourselves. Left up to us we are all going to hell. Being born again brings about the changed life, we willingly go in a new direction because we are a new creation/creature in Christ. And if we sin we are to confess the sin and He is just to forgive us. All scriptural, but I'll let you do a search to find the proving scriptures, maybe it will lead to knowing you can't do it but He willingly will. We just show up.

Our works are as filthy rags, if you think otherwise two things are present: religious pride and you don't know scripture as well as you think you do. The works we do are handed to us in a hand basket, if we do it our way it's a dirty rag. We do His work as we are called to do it and commanded by Jesus who fulfilled the law. If you still work in the law system of the old testament you might just in the same way slap Jesus Christ across the face, because then He died for nothing. We are saved by the grace of God, we don't deserve it and we can't earn it. Another Gospel but looks the same says otherwise and it's straight from the pits of hell.

Jesus Christ said unless you are clean and listed many ways you would not be in heaven from those sins. Sure did, then went on to say ( and all the religious proud miss this) that by man it's impossible but with God anything is possible, this after speaking of a rich man more likely to get through the eye of a needle than to heaven. Indeed without Him, so true indeed. They/we don't call Him savior because He failed and left it all up to us.

Of course we obey, we started that the second we turned to Jesus, that act is our first act of obedience and we did not turn to Him in a saving way because we just felt like it but it was an action on us in conviction by the Holy Spirit. We are holy in Him ( Christ), not in ourselves. By experience, the born again believer loses the very desire to sin. Many call themselves Christians yet never were born again. If you are you experience conviction to sin which is on going, that is a work of God. So is discernment. Besetting sin is the work of the devil that has not been purged yet. But it will be, because Jesus did not start a work in us that He will not finish ( sanctification is a process that absolutely will happen to you if you are born again) and He promised God the Father to not lose one of us.

Could not agree more. Then in response to what you titled your thread it could be said: True Salvation (claiming oneself to be saved) comes when you have - to the best of your ability - lived a life of holiness unto death, and then after death are received into heaven.
To abridge that: We are truly "saved" once in heaven.

We were saved at our Baptism, being saved as we allow Christ to live in us, and will be saved when we die - provided our lives have reflected that holy faith in Christ that Christians share.

We are saved then, by not one thing alone however, but three: Grace, Faith, Works.
And these three generate our holiness.
We are saved by our Words, Works, and Worship.
We are saved by our Creed, Code, and Cult.

Yes, because salvation is a process ...
because progressive sanctification is a process!

At any point, a BAC can choose to fall away, etc.
However, the Lord will do everything possible on His end
to help the BAC to be a victorious overcomer, etc.

Agreed.

Just curious, where does this saying "born again Christian" come from? St. John chapter 3?

4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”

5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

This rebirth of the water and the Spirit has always been interpreted by the ancient Church as water Baptism and Faith in the Christ.
Is this being what being "born again" means to Christians who claim this title for themselves?

It is my understanding that water Baptism alone without Faith is no benefit for the Christian. This is found in St.Mark 16:16 which says:

15 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned."

I never understood this claiming to be "born again" from the Christians who go around saying this about themselves.
One who has faith in Christ and was baptized as an infant is intuitively "born again". Why use that as a tag line when speaking to the other Christians? I imagine this is a confusion to the unbelievers that see one set of Christians claiming to be born again while other Christians understand that we are thus without having to emphasize it.

Maybe you could explain the title.

FYI, both of you guys ... I have just posted NT verses!

But, as always, I get responses which prove
there are "believers" in Jesus and His gospel
who ignore and/or reject plain and clear NT verses.
Most prefer to adhere to a lawless gospel that doesn’t lead people to live holy lives.

Hebrews 12:14
Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see Yahweh

I love the way the NLT translates it:

Hebrews 12:14 NLT
Work at living in peace with everyone, and work at living a holy life, for those who are not holy will not see Yahweh.

Greetings again.
Our first birth is a physical one ... the mother's water sac breaks ... we are born of the flesh.
Our second birth is a spiritual one ... the Holy Spirit comes to indwell us ... we are born of the Spirit.
BACs are born-again (a second time) via the second birth.

You then interpret the "water" in verse St.John 3 to mean the water of the placenta ??
This has no precedent in the ancient Church whatsoever, this is an error.
The "water" in St.John 3:5 is definitely talking about the water in use during our Trinitarian Baptism which saves us:1st Peter(3:21).
In fact - as if the ancient interpretation of the Church on this verse were not clear enough - it is very apparent that this verse is seeking to correct the error of Nicodemus, who thought that our Lord was referencing anything at all in connection to our natural birth from our mothers womb. I still did want to know why the emphasis on being a "BAC" as you call it though.
If you concede that you were in error on that interpretation of John 3:5 we could continue.

There are various interpretations/opinions about this passage ...

John 3:3-6 (NKJV)
3 "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again,
he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old?
Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
5 Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you,
unless one is born of water and the Spirit,
he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh,
and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit."

IMO, the context favors my opinion.

I disagree. I think true holiness is seen in the daily struggle to obey and follow Jesus, despite the failures, disobedience. It is seen in the repeated returning in repentance for cleansing and forgiveness and in the prayers for the strength to face that days temptations.

Anyone can stroll along when the going is easy, you only get to know the nature of a persons desire when they persue it inspire of every opposition.

Jesus said take up 'your'cross daily and follow me. He was going to Calvary are you?
