There were 13,000 new cases yesterday, and more than 16000 new cases today.

In the past week, there have been just under 70,000 new cases confirmed.

Current rate of doubling is about 2.5 days.

The peak of the crisis is probably at least two weeks away.

Compared to 38,800 motor vehicle deaths out of 221.7 million drivers in the USA. That's a ratio of 0.017%.

You're right. Dismissing the severity of the situation with bad math is not a rational evaluation.

No. Proper precautions are needed. We should stay in, keep our distance, and wash our hands regularly.

Well, pandemics don't have goals. They are not entities, they are not alive, they don't have wants desires or emotions. You might as well say the goal of gravity is not falling, it's the fear of falling.

Humans have done horrible things to one another on a level most only could see in their worst nightmares and humans have built each other up to heights previous generations couldn’t fathom. They have done both.

The level of depravity it would take to use the Covid-19 Pandemic as a vehicle to teach people a lesson is on level I can barely comprehend. There is no meaning in this. It is virus that cares little of your race, socio economic status, Faith or politics. It only seeks to replicate, in you, and the person next to you, and the next person next to you, and the next you. We can find lessons we can learn from it, but that is in our own choosing, not something he virus is seeking to do.

If your god is causing a pandemic to teach a lesson, then yes, he is a monster. Much in the same way that Owen Wilson would be a monster if he was causing a pandemic to teach a lesson.
