Too many mushrooms in the lawn?

Does anyone know how to get rid of the fairy ring mushroom without killing or digging up the lawn?

The mushrooms don’t really harm the lawn so if the looks of them offend, just kick and stomp them.

That' what I do. Do it enough they stop growing.

What is the objection to them? Real question because I think they contribute positively to the health of the soil.

I also like the way common toadstools smell.
