It used to be in years gone by that people in Churches believed God should be obeyed because he's God. Across the board, the "because God says so" answer was judged a good enough reason to do anything. Christ said "if you love me, obey my commandments," so we do.
It seems at least a weekly occurrence around here for someone to say something like this: "Calvinism, by making everyone's salvation a certain fact, gets rid of the reason to preach the Gospel." I know we've been defending ourselves against that one for centuries, but I'd like to put that one to rest forever with this:
If one actually believes that, one of necessity is mocking the idea that God simply deserves to be obeyed because He's God.
