• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

I would love to ask everyone to read Titus 3:5 and tell me how it speaks to you in your struggles. I will start. This week I found this encouraging message by my spiritual leader about how we have complete forgiveness, holiness, and are blameless before God. I asked how our obedience must play a role though in our salvation cause it seems too good to be true otherwise right? He gave me Titus 3:5. It's speaks volumes and sets the captives free. Titus 3 also talks about how good works play a role in our already saved walk with God but does not get us saved. Check it out and tell me how it helps you with your current thoughts.

I found help with my scruples by getting out of my head. Helping others, i.e. being merciful, is one way to try and do that. But, more generally, having an outward focus keeps me from giving room to obssesive thoughts. Mercy, by its nature, is outward focused.

I have a very lovely family who I can talk too. And I also try to trust in the fact that God will save me despite my doubts.
This is great! It's wonderful to have the support of family members. And it's also wonderful to realize that God can and does save us, even though we are riddled with doubt that He won't. His grace is big enough to cover us, even when we feel like it isn't!
