This Sunday I watched Oprah's Soul Series--a show that's a mixed bag for me, with some guests I watch and some I pass on.

So glad I watched Shriver, Chairman of the Special Olympics and of the Collaborative for Academic, Social and Emotional Learning, this Sunday.

A married father of 5 and daily Mass goer with a chapel in his home, Shriver spoke movingly about how his aunt, Rosemary Kennedy, taught him and his family how to love the most vulnerable. He talks about the wisdom he has learned from working with 4 million intellectually disabled athletes each year. You can read about his spiritual journey in "Fully Alive: Discovering What Matters Most," which I just got out of the library.

I expect to be uplifted and inspired by a man who lives faith boldly without losing the liberalism which is his family's trademark and heritage.
