30 million dollars of personal net worth excluding real estate. Haha. Yeah, move from California quickly or it may be you!
And the tax is a whopping .4%. Inflation is usually around 3%. The people affected by this tax probably won't even notice it.

California Democrats propose a wealth tax which taxes you even after you leave the state

That’s right, the Democrats want to tax the wealthy for ten years AFTER they move out of California.

California is on the verge of becoming a failed state. In many respects, it already resembles a third-world country. They're desperate to keep all the wealthy people there to avoid going bankrupt. As it's been said before, socialism works--until the government runs out of other people's money, then it fails.

I do not believe that would pass the test of constitutionally
I most likely wouldn't but it certainly passes the test of possibly the most moronic piece of legislation ever offered in CA.

Sounds good to me! If we don’t address the gross economic inequality in our country the ultra rich will be in danger of more than a tax. Historically, when it gets this bad you start to see people take desperate and even violent measures. I’d much rather fix the inequality peacefully that see a revolution. Many idealize revolution but I have no desire for it.

Well yeah, if the rich have taken all of the resources and are hoarding them, then leave with them, the people left will be poor.

There is an easy solution to that: Get out and risk your own capital, work 70+ hours a week, sacrifice personal time for work time and earn your share of the pie. That is a much better solution than simply expecting others to hand over their pie after they sacrificed for it(though that may be good socialist policy).

Well it seems according to you they are already poor so where is the difference?

That's what they get for running them out.
While other States welcome them
why stay in hostile territory?

You will not get 30 million dollars net worth (estate exluded) just by hard working, if you start as a poor person. Not in this universe.

You must be from a rich dynasty or have some exceptional business luck (like Facebook or Microsoft founders).

That was a hypothetical. Poor people aren’t running the rich out of California. The rich are quite comfy there.
