Another piece of the puzzle! The Devil is to be bound and thrown into a pit, for at least a thousand years (Revelation), but why?
The Devil is bound, because he has started to drive a wedge between the concepts of Men.
The Devil is weighed down, because he has not heeded leadership, either from God or Man.
The Devil must wait at least a thousand years, because without the Lord, that is how long a Day in sin lasts.
Everything in this, is fighting the Revelation of the Holy Spirit, which can lead to the Revelation of God.
Do not be quick to argue, brothers, with me, yes, but not with God.
Our fate has begun to hang in the balance, over what we believe!
When Jesus returns, He returns only for the saved. That decision has already been made as He is our High Priest now. When that work is done, He will say so and it will be the end, no more changing of the mind.
Rev_16:17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying,
It is done.
Rev_21:6 And he said unto me,
It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
Rev_22:11
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
When He comes:
1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,
to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
2Pe_3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night;
in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
2Pe_3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God,
wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
Jer 4:23 I beheld the earth, and, lo,
it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
Jer 4:24 I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
Jer 4:25 I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
Jer 4:26 I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.
Jer 4:27 For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate;
yet will I not make a full end.
When Jesus returns, the righteous dead are resurrected---the 1st resurrection, the living righteous are translated and all the saved go to be with Jesus for a thousand years. The living wicked are destroyed by His coming the rest of the wicked dead, remain dead.
Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands;
and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Rev 20:5
But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Rev 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection:
on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
So---when Jesus returns all the saved are taken to heaven with Christ, all the wicked are dead and remain dead, the earth has been destroyed at His coming---it is bare, it is empty.---then there is a period of a thousand years.
Rev 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
Rev 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
Satan and His angels are bound to this barren, empty, destroyed earth with nobody in it. This is his bottomless pit---his abyss. 1000 years with no one to tempt. Then the 2nd resurrection will come of the wicked for them to be judged.
Rev 20:7
And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
Rev 20:8
And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
Rev 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city:
and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
It also corresponds to the land Sabbaths. First there was the 7th day Sabbath, then there was 6 years of sowing and the 7th year was to be a land Sabbath---
Exo 23:10 And six years thou shalt sow thy land, and shalt gather in the fruits thereof:
Exo 23:11 But the seventh year thou shalt let it rest and lie still; that the poor of thy people may eat: and what they leave the beasts of the field shall eat. In like manner thou shalt deal with thy vineyard, and with thy oliveyard.
And it will be 6000 years and then 1000 years for the planet to have it's Sabbath.
