I knew a number of people from Iraq and the word 'liberate' really isn't the right word. 'Trash' would be closer to what has happened.

Many nations have suffered during US wars. Vietnam suffered badly while the US fought to gain control of the country and the oil just off the South coast.

South Korea is one of few countries with a debt of gratitude to the US, and you happen to be living in it. China is another, and Haiti is the third. Even Americans fighting in Korea were aware it wasn't an ordinary war; it was a struggle with Communist forces in which the US had nothing to gain.

If you tally nations the US has harmed against nations the US has helped it comes out something like 1:10.

It is interesting that you come off as objective about some of these wars; certainly there are some issues with things that we've done in the past and I will disagree with you on Iraq forever but...

Thanks for putting your brain around South Korea. I am glad that we agree on that one.

If I ever saw George Bush (either) I would throw everything I could at him.

Most people in the World would do that. There is only one country he has actually helped - which one is it?

I disagree. We know enough RIGHT NOW to understand Bush, Jr. is the worst president in the last 75 years, maybe even ever. Comparing Bush to Clinton is an unjustified insult to Mr. Clinton, his wife AND his various paramours.

It is yet to be determined if Bush is guilty of any war crimes. If you count starting a war based on lies, then he is guilty. Whether he will be found guilty of such in a court of law – that is to be determined. His V.P. just admitted in an interview that he knew of and approved torture (e.g., water boarding). I think he needs a blanket pardon from Bush now for all crimes he may have committed, just like Ford gave Nixon.

The U.S. government EXECUTED Japanese military officials for war crimes when they were found guilty of water boarding and otherwise torturing Allied prisoners. Why is Dick Cheney somehow exempt from the U.S. policy of no torture? Huh?

Then if convicted he would be subject to execution.

No one said it was the WORST crime in the world. You are just being silly and making that up. It is a violation of the Constitution. The fact that no proven harm was done is not an excuse. E.g., if I swing an ax at your head and miss, then I am NOT guilty of assault? According to your “logic”, that would be true.

And it is false that they only monitored calls made to the middle east or to known terrorists. They recorded MILLIONS of calls. There is no way all that was just terrorists or calls made to Iraq.

Your attempted apologies for Bush and his contemptible regime would be laughable if it weren’t so sad.
Ever heard of 9/11? I don't think that's a lying reason to go to war with anybody. We're talking about people that are trying to destroy this country and you people are trying to discredit Bush and make fun of him. I am so sick and tired of people making fun of Bush. He made mistakes. So what! The man is human. And when something goes wrong in the government someone always blames the president. Not entirely his fault. For the past two years congress has been controlled by democrats. That's why they can't really agree. My gosh get a life! The man is fairly decent. And for you to say that he is worse than a president that had an affair in the White House sickens me. Sickens me! Honestly! Bush tried his best to get this country running. He made mistakes while on the way. Okay. I'll agree on that. But the fact of the matter is, he was trying to protect this country from harm from a bunch of people that kill everyone because they don not submit to Allah! You wanna make fun of me, fine! But to be so irresponsible as to actually be happy that this guy threw a shoe at Bush is not only sickening, it is unChristian.

Hitler burned the Reichstag and blamed it on others. Iraq was never a threat to the US. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Face it; Bush brought the 7 plagues upon the US and the rest of the world. Now we are all paying for this man's stupidity, and downright evilness.

Are you REALLY fourteen years old?

If so your parents are to blame.

Check the latest presidential contest. The "liberals" kicked the bejesus out of people like your parents.

Maybe by the time you are old enough to vote you will have found a way to stop drinking the kool aid.

Good luck.

UAE? And they have no doubt returned the favor. In any case they all like to hold hands and wink at each other. Something is going on, that's for sure.

No, I chose my own opinions on how to vote. No one told me how. I did. The "liberals" won because the media is on their side.

Maybe by the time Obama ruins this country with socialistic ideas, you'll stop drinking propaganda juice.

Media is biased in a number of ways:

1. Ownership - the mainstream media whether a major newspaper or TV network is a big capital investment and is therefore owned by a multimillionaire, or often by a multibillionaire. Mainstream media will not speak favourably for example of socialist ideals.

2. Advertising provides much of the income of the newspaper and sets further limits on what can be said. The hazards of nuclear waste get excellent coverage as does crime, while the daily killings all over the country on the roads get a lot less owing to car advertising sponsoring the rag.

3. Readership - media is further limited owing to the risk of annoying existing readers. News contrary to the views of the readers will be reported in a misleading or ambigous way.

4. Access to the President is dependent on favourable media coverage. Up until the President is on his way out of office he will get favourable coverage. Once a new President is elected the media will give him favourable coverage to gain better access.

The swing of popular opinion away from Bush may be due to 4. more than to most other causes; people usually believe whatever they are told.

But once that has happened other things come to light such as the fact we have lost in Iraq and the abysmal state of the US economy.
