"Three days and three nights" is just an especially demonstrative way of saying "three days." It doesn't literally mean 72 hours.

It looks like a really good article. Over the years talking to Protestants you would not believe how much i have covered this topic. I could probably write some kind of dissertation or book on it and that is not a joke.
