1 corinthians 7:29 But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on even those who have wives should be as though they had none, 30 those who weep as though they did not weep, those who rejoice as though they did not rejoice, those who buy as though they did not possess, 31 and those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away.

Isaiah 40:6 The voice said, “Cry out!”
And he said, “What shall I cry?”

    “All flesh is grass,
And all its loveliness is like the flower of the field.
7 The grass withers, the flower fades,
    Because the breath of the Lord blows upon it;
    Surely the people are grass.
8 The grass withers, the flower fades,
But the word of our God stands forever.”

2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.[c] 11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, 12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will melt with fervent heat? 13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

Hastening the day. I have never really thought about that. I wonder what it means.

2 Peter 3:12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God...

Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world.”

“The kingdom of God will not come with observable signs, nor will they say, ‘Look, here it is!’ or ‘There!’ for behold, the kingdom of God is in the midst of you.”

In the creation week, God's Day (even before the sun, moon and stars were hung) went from evening (darkness) to morning(light).

It could have a general application. There are some people who would strive against God(knowing or unknowingly) by working towards hastening the time or bringing about the Day of the Lord. This also could be that they are intrigued/fascinated with it and want to see it for themselves or what it would be like. In a sense, they're being admonished because the Day of the Lord isn't going to be an event where one will be able to sit back and watch it as if it were entertainment or for personal amusement. Its funny how so many people stupidly watch/post the youtube garbage of individuals getting sucker punched from behind, beat up, or other typical "Jackass" stunts/pranks. Well, God has His own version which if I had to name it, it would be called "Judgment: No Stone Unturned", which means pretty much everyone's butt will be in the grinder and they will either turn and repent, or they will burn.

Regardless of who you are, if you're alive and on the earth when this day comes, you'll be wishing you were either dead already or that the Day of the Lord passed as quickly as it started.

We have no reason to fear Gods wrath if we follow the spirit.

With great eagerness we are looking for Jesus' Return,
which makes time go by "the days are shortened for the sake of the elect" so much faster (that's not the only perspective/ cause/ effect, but one obvious one at least simply and potentially) ....

We greatly desire to see and look every day expectantly for Jesus, YHWH'S Way, Life and TRUTH (His Kingom)

Somewhere it is written JESUS is returning for all who are eagerly expecting Him every day...
    and
    Aramaic Bible in Plain English

The one time I remember His Word says to be terrified (to believers) is
Be terrified lest any one of you fall short of achieving salvation ....
not as if to be constanstly scared in our walks,
but more like (I think) be completely aware of the sure and final destruction that awaits all who trample under foot the preciousness, the amazing grace, the blood of Jesus shed for our sins, and
"whosoever denies Me before men, I WILL DENY before MY FATHER IN HEAVEN"

    Matthew 24:35
Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.

Matthew 24 clearly outlines the timeline of the "end of the ages."

Here's my best guess at a "time line"...Based primarily on Jesus' Prophecy of the "end of the ages" ....Matthew 24

    1. "birth pangs"...increasing intensity and frequency of world problems...NOW!

    2. Time unknown: BEGIN 7 years of Tribulation / GREAT Tribulation

    3. First 3.5 years...persecutions, apostasy's (CHURCH grows cold), rise of the anti-christ

    4. God the Holy Spirit is removed with believers / "Second Coming" of Christ / "rapturo" event ... 1Thess. 4

    5. Last 3.5 years...approach Armegeddon, near world annihilation

    6. war stops, satan/followers bound, Jesus rules for 1000 years, 144,000 Jewish evangelists point to Messiah in Jerusalem

    7. satan and friends released (Revelation), planet earth destroyed by fire...(2 Peter 3)

    8. New Heavens + New Earth + New Jerusalem...Rev. 21-22

I believe we should keep in mind that all the OT and NT prophecies were written before the destruction of OC Jerusalem and the Jews' "form of the world" thru Temple worship.

How do others view 1Co 7:29 and Jere 7:34 and Reve 18:23?

Strong's Greek: 2540. καιρός (kairos) -- time, season
Short Definition: fitting season, opportunity, time
Definition: fitting season, season, opportunity, occasion, time.
2540 kairóstime as opportunity. 2540 /kairós ("opportune time") is derived from kara ("head") referring to things "coming to a head" to take full-advantage of

    1Co 7:29
But this I say, brethren, the time G2540 is short:
    it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;

It is so urgent for the 1st century Jews concerning the time, that Jesus mentions it twice:

    Rev 1:3
Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein:
for the time G2540 is at hand.
    Rev 22:10
And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book:
for the time G2540 is at hand.

    Jeremiah 7:34
And I cause to cease from cities of [email protected], and from streets of [email protected] voice of elation and voice of rejoicing, voice of bridegroom, and voice of bride,
that to desolation the Land shall become. [Reve 18:23]

    Reve 18:
19 And they cast dust upon their heads and cried out, lamenting and mourning, saying "woe! woe! the City, the great, in which are rich all the ones having the ships in the sea out of the preciousness of Her, that to one hour She was desolated
23 and light of a lamp shall not no be appearing in thee still

and voice of bridegroom and of bride not no should be being heard in Thee still, [Jeremiah 7:34]................

The Destruction of Jerusalem - George Peter Holford, 1805AD

Vespasian, after proceeding as far as Jericho, returned to Caesarea, in order to make preparation for his grand attempt against Jerusalem. While he was thus employed, he received intelligence of the death of Nero ; whereupon, not knowing what the will of the future emperor might be, he prudently resolved to suspend, for the present, the execution of his design.
Thus the Almighty gave the Jews a second respite, which continued nearly two years ; but they repented not of their crimes, neither were they in the least degree reclaimed, but rather proceeded to acts of still greater enormity.

While Jerusalem was a prey to these ferocious and devouring factions, every part of Judea was scourged and laid waste by bands of robbers and murderers, who plundered the towns; and, in case of resistance, slew the inhabitants, not sparing either women or children.

Are you suggesting that the "end" refers to the end of the temple?

Unless the Jews build another Temple and Sanctuary and start sacrificing again in the future, then yes.
Didn't Paul and the Big 3 address their people before 70AD.

    Romans 13:11
And this knowing the time, that hour to ye already to be aroused/egerqhnai <1453> (5683) out of sleep.

    1 Peter 4:7

    James 5:8
be patient! and stand-fast! the hearts of ye,

    Luke 21:20
Whenever yet ye may be perceiving Jerusalem being encompassed by armies,
then be ye knowing that has-neared/hggiken <1448> (5758) Her desolation.
    [Daniel 12/Revelation 19/20]

The Destruction of Jerusalem - George Peter Holford, 1805AD

While Jerusalem was a prey to these ferocious and devouring factions, every part of Judea was scourged and laid waste by bands of robbers and murderers, who plundered the towns; and, in case of resistance, slew the inhabitants, not sparing either women or children.
The dead bodies of priests and worshippers, both natives and foreigners were heaped together, and a lake of blood stagnated in the sacred courts. John of Gischala, who headed one of the factions, burnt storehouses full of provisions ; and Simon, his great antagonist, who headed another of them, soon afterwards followed his example. Thus they cut the very sinews of their own strength.
At this critical and alarming c onjuncture, intelligence arrived that the Roman army was approaching the city. The Jews were petrified with astonishment and fear ; there was no time for counsel, no hope of pacification, no means of flight:--

    Revelation 6:6
And I hear a voice in midst of the four living-ones saying: "choinex of grain/wheat a denarius and three choinex of barleys a denarius, and the oil and the wine no you should be injuring". [John 11:48]
