Which gospel was NOT originally written in Greek?

There seems to be some controversy over this one -- various sources I've read disagree. Some claim that Matthew could have been written in Hebrew or Aramaic originally, but they also state that no original manuscript has been found written in these language. My NIV Bible notes regarding Matthew state as fact that it was written in Greek.

Given that other notes indicate little doubt that the original language of Mark, Luke, and John was Greek, I'm gonna have to go with Matthew.

Yes absolutely right. It is believed that Matthew was orginially written (or at least started) in Hebrew, though there is no concrete evidence of this and it really doesn't "mean" anything. Just a point of interesting trivia.

Congrats Pressingon

100 Blessings!

Does this mean I can, or cannot answer a question until next week?
It means you cannot answer a question until I "open" it or until next week if they all get answered. I "open" the questions up if I get no responses by Wednesday. When the question is opened up anyone can answer it.

Sorry it's a bit confusing. I asked RED_THAT's_HER to let me make a locked-sticky with the rules but she's avoiding me (RED - ). I'll get it up there soon I'm sure.

So for right now since you answered last weeks questions, you could only answer the bonus questions. Since it has been answered you have to wait until I "open" the other one or next week whichever comes first. I try to keep it available to different people this way...

dig?

hrmmm

I think you might be getting mixed up because of the way the Question was asked (in that case it's my bad... sorry). So let me make it a little more plain..

God often uses the most unlikely people for His purposes. Prove it, from the OLD TESTAMENT Judges.

Mabey that will help Brethren and the rest of you out a bit.

Now take a crack at it!

Ok all the unanswered questions are now open to everyone.

You guys are sorta on track for the second question. Take a look at the question again, specially the bolded sections in the rephrase. You'll get it... if there are no answers by Friday I'll give the answer and part points to those who are almost there..

Keep thinking!
