Doing the right thing for your constituents means you had to be paid by the Democratic party to do it?

No doubt, their masters in the DC swamp are the same masters the Democrats answer to.Kinda makes you wonder how many of them are being paid to vote they way they are by members of the Democrat party???
Sounds like capitalism in action. Insurance companies under the ACA are allowed to keep 15% of premiums for administrative purposes. It doesn't state that they cannot use any of that money to pay royalties to others for selling their policies. AARP is not an insurance company, they encourage members to apply for coverage through insurance companies that they advertise, when they do AARP receives payments from the companies. In effect they are merely an insurance agency much like your local agent for car insurance, etc.
I think some of it is self-interest. The first bill would have quickly taken away premium subsidies provide in the ACA without bringing down the cost of premiums or costs of health care. It is not just low income people who are benefited by these subsidies. Many middle income people get them as well. Some of the middle income people no longer have employer/employee coverage so without the subsidies they wouldn't be able to afford the premiums. At least with help to pay premiums they can whether the large deductibles, without them they can't.And AARP is not really related to the concerns about repealing Obamacare. AARP does not do medicaid or is involved in the expansion of it in states. AARP is not responsible for whether kids can stay on their parent's insurance longer not protecting those with pre-existing conditions and much more.
The Republican bills are coming off as downright mean and as favoring the wealthy and not those in need - and the American public sees it. That is why the last bill had a 17% favorbility.
AARP has backed numerous redistributionist policies ... including Obamacare. It's what they do.And AARP is not really related to the concerns about repealing Obamacare.
Not entirely correct. AARP sells insurance and got a windfall out of Obamacare's passage. And AARP is not really related to the concerns about repealing Obamacare. ... and who can argue against the 'greater good'?A lot of the evil politicians unleash on their citizens is done in the name of the 'greater good.'
That doesn't mean that the government should stop making laws in the best interest of it's citizens in a democratic society.A lot of the evil politicians unleash on their citizens is done in the name of the 'greater good.'

Please explain how AARP got a windfall from the ACA.Not entirely correct. AARP sells insurance and got a windfall out of Obamacare's passage.
Rion, you and I both know it's more complicated than that. I do not believe the customer is always right, or in this case the citizens is always right, because sometimes what they are saying isn't always to their best interest or even worst against their interest. The government should listen to its citizens, or it has no right to exist.

Then why you and NH are in up in arms when people say "greater good" here, when in theory the checks and balances prevents that.Which is what checks and balances are for.
