The Breath (or Spirit) of God (Gen. 2:7)

Genesis 2:7
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

There is life-giving power in the breath of God.

Here, God put a spirit in man. He made his body from dust, breathed a spirit into him (the spirit of life), and man became a living soul. Our spirit is what gives life to our bodies and causes us to become a living soul. This shows the importance of our spirit and why we need to be spiritual and feed our spirits things that are spiritual.

Without our spirit being connected to God's breath (God's Spirit), then we're just a bunch of walking dead men. The spirit in us is eternal (whether we're serving God or not), so it has to be connected to Someone who's eternal in order for us to truly live, be alive, and reach our God-given destinies. Without the eternal spirit in us being connected to the Eternal God, we're just as good as being dead.

There is no life apart from God. Our senses are operating, but our spirit man is dead because we're trusting in darkness to lead us not knowing that we're being led into destruction.

The only thing that exists apart from God is darkness. How can you find the right way in spiritual darkness? He that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth (John 12:35).

In order for our spirit to be led in the right direction in every aspect of our life, we have to be connected and in constant fellowship with God's Spirit because God is light and in Him is no darkness at all (1 John 1:5). You won't lose your way in God. You won't ever be without light or guidance as long as you are in God, because He will order your steps according to His Word (Ps. 37:23).

Let the Breath of God be the air that you breathe.

God bless,
