"An experiment using high-speed video found that hundreds of droplets ranging from 20 to 500 micrometers were generated when saying a simple phrase, but that nearly all these droplets were blocked when the mouth was covered by a damp washcloth."
Still Confused About Masks? Here’s the Science Behind How Face Masks Prevent Coronavirus

Also, its not a coincidence that countries where everybody must wear a cloth mask slowed the virus spreading more than the other ones.

It's tyranny. Call it what it is. It's local governments wanting to have way more control than they should over people.

Note that when I wear a cloth mask, I'm not protecting myself; I'm protecting other people from me. So when I don't wear a mask, I am potentially endangering other people. That's why it's reasonable to require people to wear masks. It's not about requiring people to protect themselves; it's about requiring people to avoid hurting the people around them.

They have a total control about your life, they know where you are (mobile phone), they know your friends, family and opinions (facebook), they have a photodocumentation of your life (instagram), they know your salary and where you buy and what you buy (paying by credit cards) etc.

Its not so much about not having a party in the covid time. The real control is in the backgound and people do not care.

I'm not overly concerned about what they know. Only what they do with that knowledge. But I can remember a time when we had some degree of privacy and I miss it.

Where did you get this non sense? The government can't force people to wear masks out side or in you house or car. Maybe they can in government buildings and such, or a private company can. There are probably lawsuits making there way through the courts right now.

and that we don't actually have a Constitutional right to go without masks,

What are you so worried about? Dying? I thought Catholics believe in Heaven too. Dying is gain according to Paul. A big muscle man Barbarian shouldn't fear death.

20For I fully expect and hope that I will never be ashamed, but that I will continue to be bold for Christ, as I have been in the past. And I trust that my life will bring honor to Christ, whether I live or die. 21For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better. 22But if I live, I can do more fruitful work for Christ. So I really don’t know which is better. 23I’m torn between two desires: I long to go and be with Christ, which would be far better for me. 24But for your sakes, it is better that I continue to live.

The point of a mask is not to protect you from the disease, it is to protect others from getting the disease off of you.

People who meet indoors in large groups ARE purposely hurting each other. It requires only of them to have the disease at the beginning for most of them to have it afterwards... which they will then take back and spread on to others who weren't even at the party.

I agree that it should be up to individuals, but such individuals must then expect to be denied the chance to do things that risk spreading the disease - such as going to supermarkets or any kind of indoor place, even some outdoor places.

Ok, it is good that you didn’t have a worse experience.

(That said, if you are explaining how it felt to you, I suggest that you state something like “in my experience, it wasn’t more than a bad cold or flu“ in the future. Saying “it’s just a really bad cold. It goes away” seems like an absolute statement.)

Free people must be free to make their own choices. We are not collectivists, we shouldn't be considering the broader community when we take action. By that I mean we all take daily risks that put others in potential danger. The evidence that masks work is not good at all, despite propaganda being peddled this week. There are a dozen pre-covid studies that determined masks are useless.

From a Christian standpoint we must demand liberty on this issue. People should be free to wear masks if they want. If others don't want to that's their business and believers have no business judging them.

    Introverted,

Strengthening your immune system is ideal. Elderberry syrup, vitamin-c and zinc tablets are helpful. You can find them at the health food store.

I provided the same for a family friend who works at the VA. She was sent home with a fever and we delivered the medicine to her. The test was negative and the symptoms never returned.

    Yours in His Service,

    ~Bella

Hey Intro, welcome to the 1950's where it would have been inconceivable that the Govt. would tell us we HAD TO wear seat belts. Now, they want to tell us everything we can and can't do, especially the Dems. The snowflake generation has taken over and they would rather melt than buck against the system.

If they are talking about massive parties in the Hollywood Hills that are flouting local restrictions - then I don't really care a lot if they break them up. People may be travelling from far and wide to such events, sharing swimming pools then leaving, perhaps using public transport, and if the virus has spread taking that far and wide. The properties are sometimes rented, so they also have to abide with their landlord's wishes (and he/she won't want to get in trouble). If they were warned and kept going on with them - then i don't have a problem with the authorities dispersing the gatherers.

How do you save an economy by shutting it down? You end up putting everyone in the poor house. Then what do you have?

We have what, about 350 million. And even going with the inflated CDC figures, about 180 thousand dead. 40 % or more are those in nursing homes who would have died in the next year or two anyway. Come on get real.

Good excuse for tyranny. In fact, it's the classic excuse:" it's for your own good."
The damage the shutdown has done to the economy is catastrophic.
