I started a Christian blog last week to announce my church events etc and was thinking what to post yesterday, and then late last night i started writing - a poem.
I never write poems, in fact i don't think i have ever written a poem since leaving school so the structure is slightly imature but it is for the Lord.
I hope you like it or find you can use it.
My eyes are down,
My ears close quick
Mountains loom heavy
and clouds are thick
Each tread is deep
and drag is long
my solo effort
feel so wrong.
The weight is on me
I’m on my knees
their words are stench
without fresh breeze
At first the pain
was only small
but every little word
built up like a wall
What must I do
to make things right?
Why should I bother
with this fight?
Where are you Lord,
where are you now?
Is it too hard,
when I am down?
Forgive, I beg,
the wrongs I’ve done
the evil I’ve seen
and conceit I’ve won
My eyes are down,
My ears close quick
Mountains loom heavy
and clouds are thick
There seems a whisper
I can’t make out
He’s talking to me
without a doubt
“Take my hand
and don’t look back,
For everything is
forgiven in past track”
“Raise your eyes,
and open your ears,
For the Lord is with you
do not fear”
“I never left your side
I never left your heart
Just never forget
You’re my work of art”
My eyes look up
and see the light
The devil himself
has lost his bite
Oh my Lord
how amazing you are
that you can forgive
and carry me so far
Oh my Lord
You make me new
so many times
I fell short for you
Father God
your grace is endless
that I can return to you
so weak but fearless
But you lift me up
and brush me down
and then I remember
your thorny crown
The pain you went through
was for me
Golgotha’s torment was
to set me free.
I kneel to you now
my God I trust
A servant to you
my past is dust
I love you lord
with all my heart
for what is done for me
is just the first part.
They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
