Anyone want to go into deeper details about it?  I really love this devotion, and I was thinking about the prayers in the chaplet.  I think they are really good.  I was just curious about the theology behind it, coming from a Protestant background.

Like, here's a question that intrigues me...
Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity, of your Dearly Beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins, and the sins of the whole world.
Why do we say that we are offering that which Christ offered to us, back to God?  Maybe because it is a sacrifice to offer it back?  It really intrigues me.  I like it, and I think that somehow, in my heart, that it is right on, but I just wonder about that part....

What is the greatest thing you have received?
What is most pleasing to God the Father?
What has most atoned for sin in the World?

The answer to each question is the Son.

We are offering back to God what most pleases Him- His Son.
There is nothing greater in the world that we can offer to God.

There are book written on this topic. But another dimention to the prayer is this- The Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinty of Jesus is what Catholics believe is contained in the Holy Eucharist.

We are simply offering back to God the greatest gift He has given to us.

In Christ, Patrick
