It seems every year (especially at the beginning) ministers come forward and say 'this is the year of [...]' and sometimes they agree but sometimes it seems vague or random. Where does God say in the Bible that He has a specific 'theme' for each year?

Facebook has it as the year to not eat meat unless he kills it, in order to be thankful. MZ also had a year to wear a tie because he wanted his team to know it was serious time.

Don't know how that was ridiculous favor or even to make you part with your money, but who knows.

I guess when people go through all kinds of sufferings, they are not on the list you posted.

These are the typical broad catchall phrases trumpeted out all the time.

There's no difference between this and Yahweh giving a leader what they're to speak about. The entire Bible is still applicable but a specific topic is being highlighted.

According to Ecc 3:1 "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;" through v 8. These verses show that not every season is for everyone at the same time but there are periods of time when some messages are for specific group of believers.

Another example is when a message is given in tongues with interpretation for the church. Sometimes we need to pray to gain more understanding of those messages but sometimes it's plain. We've had a message in tongues with interpretation to tell the congregation that the pastor's message was for us and we needed to listen.

That could be said of any congregation but it definitely applied to us that Sunday.

It can be on an individual basis such as when you read a Scripture that you've read previously and realize something that you hadn't noticed before - it's meaningful to you at that time. Or on a much larger level such as I Chron 12:32 "And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren were at their commandment." In regards to understanding the times, even today among believers, you have a wide range of responses to the end times. There are those who believe that Yeshua could return at any moment while other believers are saying they don't think things are so bad and especially nothing is going on that's in Scripture while others are saying what end times? those type of Scriptures don't mean how they're being interpreted by some others.
