The Lord comes to open up the Scriptures to our hearing ears...and how we respond to His voice which interprets the Scriptures in the Spirit of Truth is how we are judged.

His disclosure of the Scripture of Truth is via the Spirit and is the "water of life" that flows down from Heaven ....and that we are to partake of it and live. Those who will truly hear what the Spirit is saying shall live.

Those who hear the Spirit are to be hospitable towards what they hear: and let him that hear the Spirit say "come" and abide. They will show brotherly love towards the speaker and will entertain "strangers" and their words.

Rev 22: KJV (17) And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

It is the Spirit that gives life.
His words that He speaks unto us are spirit and are life. His words quenchs our "thirst" for the Word of Truth as we have been living in a dry "desert" of meaningless words that man has been preaching to us for the last 2000 year.

We are to "drink in" what He has to say...receiving and believing in His words and reject the "word of man" for the "faithful and true" interpretation of the Word of God that comes from Heaven.

Joh 6: KJV (63) It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

But some will not believe in what they will hear.

(64) But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray him.

The unbelievers will not enter in to understand. The wicked shall not have the understanding of the Lord as they will stay "outside" and not be permitted enter in. To them, the Word of God spoken in truth and sincerity will be seem to them as verses taken out of context...."line upon line". They will mock the method...the taking of various verses of the Bible and putting them together...the line upon line. they will scorn the speaker: Who is he trying to teach knowledge to?

Isa 28:9-13 KJV
(9) Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
(10) For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

They will not understand the Word because of their unbelief....they will not hear.

(11) For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

This wil be the water to drink of. This is the refreshing....but they will not hear.

(12) To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.
(13) But the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

His words will interpret the Scripture of Truth and not be like the private interpretations of the denominations of man.

Paul/Saul did count all of his own religious things as a loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus. The Lord's knowledge is much more superior than man's knowledge of the Bible.

Php 3:8-9 KJV Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

Paul did not go about defending his own righteousness which was of the law when hearing the revealed knowledge of the Lord.

We are to follow his example and be found in Christ (doing God's will) at the disclosure of God's knowledge to us and not go about seeking to defend our own "works of righteousness" which are done based on the following of the churches' "law of commandments contained in ordinances/dogmas" (tenets of faith, church bylaws/constitutions, etc).

(9) And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Whosoever will save his life shall lose it.

Like Paul, we are to count those things we once were zealous for and revered in our own religious thoughts and ways as a loss in order to save our life.

Luk 9:24 KJV For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.

We must be found by Him ready...remembering to let brotherly love continue...so that we may hear His voice...His interpretation of the Scripture of Truth...and open up unto Him immediately.

Luk 12:35-37 KJV
(35) Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;
(36) And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

Happy are those servants whom the Lord when He comes shall find "watching"....awake to His righteousness...for then they shall be able to enter into His understanding as He will come forth and serve them with the meat of the Word of God.

(37) Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

Paul did not contend with the Lord Jesus Christ when he heard His revelation knowledge but was found in Christ. He did not go about defending his own works of righteousness but instead disesteemed it all in order to get His knowledge. We must do the same.

We are to be found "sober"....and not drunk on the wine of wrath where we forget to do His will and behave badly towards what we hear the Spirit saying.

1Pe 1:13-14 KJV
(13) Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ
(14) As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

We are counseled to be not "drunk with wine"....the wine of wrath...but be FILLED with the Spirit.

We are to drink in what we hear the Spirit saying instead of rejecting His words with a wrathful, unbelieving heart. Let him who is athirst take of the water of life freely....being filled with what the Spirit says.

Eph 5:17-20 KJV
(17) Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
(18) And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit

We are to REJOICE when we hear Him speak. We are to speak to ourselves and among ourselves in psalms...

From Strong's:
(psalmós – a psalm ("Scripture set to music"). Originally, a psalm (5568 /psalmós) was sung and accompanied by a plucked musical instrument (typically a harp), especially the OT Psalms.).

...and in "hymns"....

From Strong's (apparently from a simpler (obsolete) form of ὕδέω hudeō (to celebrate; probably akin to G103; compare G5567); a “hymn” or religious ode (one of the Psalms): - hymn.)

...and spiritual songs, singing and making "melody" (psallō) in our hearts.

psal'-lo
Probably strengthened from ψάω psaō (to rub or touch the surface; compare G5597); to twitch or twang, that is, to play on a stringed instrument (celebrate the divine worship with music and accompanying odes): - make melody, sing (psalms).)

(19) Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
(20) Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

When we hear the "music" of the rejoicing to God among people for His revealed knowledge, let us not then fall down and worship religious man's thoughts and ways...seeking to defend them in contention with the Word of Truth.

Dan 3:4-7 KJV
(4) Then an herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,
(5) That at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:

The golden "image"....which means "shade"...speaks today of the handwriting of dogmas that man has set up for their congregations to serve and worship and are revered. They are made with man's wisdom and man's hands.

Those who will not fall down and worship them in this coming time when we hear the Word of Truth as spoken in the Spirit of Truth will be persecuted (be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace so to speak). They will flame us with false accusations.

(6) And whoso falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace.
(7) Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

The shade or "shadow" is the "handwriting of ordinances/dogmas" that fleshly-minded men have set up for others to serve and worship. They have trespassed..."intruded"... into those things of the Scriptures that they do not understand and are a "shadow of things to come" and have included some of the carnal commandments of the Scriptures into their documents.

Their handwritings of church dogmas are "images" and have been established in every church of man for their congregations to bow down to...to serve and worship.

Col 2:14-18 KJV
(14) Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
(15) And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
(16) Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
(17) Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.
(18) Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

They have been written by the church "scribes" who do not/did not have the mind of Christ...not holding the Head.

Col 2:19-23 KJV
(19) And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

Why be subject to their "ordinances"...why bow down to them? They are patterned after the "rudiments"...the fundamental principles...of the world. The world has its handwritings of men: their constitutions, etc. Why must a church have them also?

Their church handwritings...their "images"...are made after the form of man (according to the outside world's constitutions, laws, statutes, etc) and are set up firmly in every gathering.

(20) Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,

Serving the commandments and doctrines of men (their handwritings) does nothing to save the mortal flesh of those who "use" them as they all are perishing from off this earth.

(21) (Touch not; taste not; handle not
(22) Which all are to perish with the using) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
(23) Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh
.

The image...the shadow of things to come...was set up in the plain of "Dura"...the "circle". In other words, the circle of the earth...that is, the world.

Dan 3:1 KJV
(1) Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

Why as living in the world are we subject to the foundational principles of the churches of men that are patterned after the world's handwritings?

Actual words from a preamble in a church constitution: "we declare and establish this constitution to which we voluntarily submit ourselves". Others say something like "we solemnly and voluntarily submit ourselves".

Why subject yourselves to man's church constitutions...statements of faith....etc. which are patterned after the world's constitutions?

Do not let man beguile you of your reward (eternal life) in a voluntary humility and worshipping of "angels".....messengers....church documents written by the church scribes with man's wisdom and man's hands and transmitted down through generations.

Col 2:18 KJV
(18) Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

They are other "gods"....Elohim which means "gods, judges". Men are using their church handwritings to judge others. It has become another "god"...Elohim..in their serving and judging of another.

There is only One Judge. Do not let a man judge you over carnal commandments that were wrested out of the Scriptures with his own fleshly mind and placed into the church handwritings that are served and worshipped.

Col 2:16-17 KJV
(16) Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:

Their church handwritings are an "image"...a shadow.

(17) Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

These church handwritings...these "graven images"...are being used to judge others with. They are "other gods"...judges...before Him who is the One Judge. They are placed before Him...or rather along with the worship of God in their churches.

Yet, they worship God in vain as they follow their doctrines and commandments of men that don't save anyone.

Exo 20:3-6 KJV
(3) Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

These handwriting of ordinances/dogmas are "graven images"...graven shadows...made like unto worldly man's constitutions and documents that they follow after. They have made unto them their handwritings of ordinances to serve and worship along with their worship of God.

(4) Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:

We are not to bow down...humbly submitting ourselves...to the church constitutions that are set up in every church gathering. They are being used to judge others who do not submit to them. We are not to serve them...doing them. They are being transmitted down through generations.

(5) Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
(6) And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandme
nts.

The graven images are being used to judge others....killing others so-to-speak with false accusations (labeling others as "evildoers" who are going to burn in hell).
