Not really.

 

While I can see how a person can 'see' the U.S. as being Babylon the Great, I'm thinking that there are better historical candidates than that which fit that mold. However, I'm not one to presume to elucidate and understand all of the prophecies of Daniel, John of Revelation and the other prophets.

 

And only by the will of God can one become a prophet.

 

And so is who God appoints to be a prophet...

 

These forums are full of people who know the truth!

All with different 'truths'.

Which of them is right?

 

America is the daughter of the Whore and no, the 2 witnesses have not been revealed yet.

 

God is. We try to build a framework around Him, but He's way too complex for that. For the things that aren't explained explicitly in Scripture, all we can do is put forth our best deductions. Some confident truths can be deduced from Scripture, but there are some things we just can't comprehend.

Jesus's death for example. If God is infinitely perfect, how could Jesus have taken on our sin? Or how does the Trinity even work for that matter, with all members separate yet the same? No one can really say.

That's like trying to explain an eye-covered "wheel within a wheel".

 

Uh, go read and observe the Bible and then come back and tell us which one came to pass...

Prophets in the old testament, are just types and a shadows of Christians. There are some that speak the truth, and a lot that speak falsely and presumptuously. If you say "thus saith the Lord" and you are speaking falsely, then you are a false prophet.

 

I think I have to disagree with this. To be a 'false' prophet in the Old Testament is to be someone who presumes to be a prophet.................but really isn't. It's not just a prophet of the true God who speaks in a mistaken manner. Remember Hananiah?

 

I think you just missed what I said. Old testament prophets, are just types.
