The Tale of Three Trees

My girls just got this book as a gift from my aunt and it's the most beautiful story. I just wanted to recommend it to all of you as one of those wonderful stories that are awesome to have in your children's library.

It's about 3 trees who have high hopes of being spectacular things...one a treasure chest, one a mighty ship, but the third only wishes to be the tallest tree on the mountaintop so she can point the way to God for all to see. They all get their wishes, but in unexpected ways.

It's one of those kids books that's going to bring me to tears everytime I read it to the girls.

It's such a simple, powerful, heartwarming story...and one that I can't get through without tears either. I didn't know there was an actual book though. I have an OLD flannelgraph set that has the illustrations. I'm not even sure where it came from, but my trees are starting to die a slow death! I think I'll be getting 2 books - one for my daughter for when she gets a little older and one for me to use when teaching...
