The Symbolic Meaning of Being Pierced

This is an interesting take about the meaning of being pierced: Thorns at the foot of the Edenic mountain, snakes piercing the Israelites in the desert, Christ being pierced on the cross, etc.

So, the act of being pierced, and the vehicle in which does the piercing results in the pouring out of principalities. Typologically, being pierced resulted in a form of death in the OT, but Jesus being the Truth flips this at the Crucifixion by being pierced and pouring out Life (water and blood) from His side. So, it's like an inversion of the first Adam in which death came from his side (vis-a-vis Eve).

I thought that was really interesting.

Another symbol of being pierced, but resulting in life would be through marital relations.

Is there then a sense in which christ pierces us giving us authority and the foreign, and through this solves our insufficiency? What would this process be then?
