So the entire world is going to weep because the entire world is going to be destroyed in one day?

And, the entire world is going to mourn specifically because the entire earth won't be able to trade goods with the entire world?

Well at least he wasn't there when the verse was written. I personally believe the AC is a role Satan will play, pretending to be God so Satan has always been "here" in various ways, but the actual appearance of the AC would still be future...only after the global government rises in the start of the GT, then will the AC rise up and take control of it all.

No, they will weep at the loss of the religion they were a part of, and the loss of the god they worshiped. They had it all for a short time but will weep when it all crumbles.

Here is the one thing I know for sure, I know I'm thankful that we are not required to fully understand Revelation. That being said, I do enjoy the study of it. I'm of the opinion that there's more symbolism in Revelation than many think.

If you read Ezekiel, Daniel, the Olivet Discourse, that will help with it think.

Most of it is written in OT symbology the Hebrew Jews would be familiar with [we can't ask them because they don't read the NT of Jesus]

Allusions in Revelation from Old Testament

THE SYMBOLISM IN BOOK OF REVELATION
The key to interpreting the Revelation is, for the most part, the Old Testament. Period.

And you apply these symbols used in Revelation that were taken from the Old Testament to the life of Jesus and the early church. You find the stories of the Old Testament, from which Revelation takes references, actually PARALLEL Jesus and the early church!

Futurism contends that the church could never know what Revelation’s mark of the beast really was until thousands of years after it was written, when we now have computer technology. Think about it! What relevance did the book have to the early church to whom it was first given? NONE, if futurism is right! Not only that, but NOTHING in Revelation was of any value to the early church, because none of those events listed would ever take place in their lifetimes, nor for the lifetimes of the next 2000 years of believers.

One man studied and found 348 allusions (not illusions, Light) in Revelation from the Old Testament. You see the similarity in wording and the context mirrored in Revelation and the particular Old Testament story, and immediately can recognize the reference source!
That's IF you know the bible well enough to even notice that.

95 of the 348 plain references used in Revelation as taken from the Old Testament are repeated in Revelation.
That makes about 250 Old Testament passages are cited. How many chapters are in Revelation? 22. That makes about TEN OLD TESTAMENT REFERENCES FOR EVERY CHAPTER!

Therein lies the problem though. They had not rejected Christ as their messiah. God had made many efforts through the prophets to call Israel back. After Christ came that was His last call to Israel. Christ instituted the New Covenant and Israel rejected it. That is where they truly became apostate. Furthermore Paul is predicting the apostasy of those who would fall away before Jerusalem fell.

Christ pronounced His judgment would come to Jerusalem at Matthew 23:33-37...and it did in 70AD. That's truly what most of Revelation is all about. That is the *FACT* of the matter...and many will be alarmed to see Christ returning with none of what they think will happen coming to pass.

Yours is the only post that makes a modicum of sense.

There are four beasts in the Revelation, one of which is the image of the sea-beast (Revelation 11–20): first, the sea-beast (Revelation 13:1); second, the lamb like beast (Revelation 13:11); third, the image of the sea-beast; and the fourth, the scarlet-colored beast (Revelation 11:7: 17:8, 11). One of the beasts is resurrected, which reveals that two of the beasts are actually the same dynastic kingdom that has a “is not” span, making but three beasts to determine. Considering Daniel’s little horn is John’s sea-beast we are left with but two beasts in the Revelation to identify, in addition to Daniel’s five beasts, which comes to seven, the exact number of kings in Revelation 17:10.

The only determination that works is that the five fallen kings commenced with Babylon, which makes Rome the fourth king/kingdom and the papacy the fifth king/kingdom—the sea-beast in the Revelation. Certainly, the papacy followed Rome—and “was” prior to the sixth king when determining the papacy as the fifth, one of the five that were fallen. History affirms that the wounding of papacy occurred with the rise of America and its advancement of disestablishment, making America the sixth king, the lamb like beast–confirming that John was taken into the future, our time, to see the judgment of the harlot Babylon, apostate Protestantism, prophesied as the great falling away in the New Testament.

As I stated in my post on historicism, I’ve published a book that maintains the synchronization of the autumnal festivals with the seven seals and the exposé that the first horseman was fulfilled by Protestant missionary imperialism at the time of the Laodicean church, Daniel’s “time of the end” and “cleansing of the sanctuary.” I document the exploitation of the true church by apostate Protestantism, Babylon, that fulfills the denunciation that Babylon is “drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus,” and this is the source of the torment of the souls in the sixth seal. Protestant missionary imperialism led to the wars for the resources of the world, the first attempt at globalism (the red horseman), the ending of their churches’ intercession in commerce (the black horse), and the famines and death that followed by their attempts at globalism (the pale horseman).

And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:

The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,

And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.

The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,

And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!

For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,

And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!

And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

America is the whore; its the only nation that would cause the world to be scared of its destruction - the only place that trades all manners of fornication, goods and humans so much so that the nation going under would be a great loss. It holds the reserve currency of the world. It is the only nation with all of these attributes PLUS could see serious destruction not only from burning from within, but also destruction from an "asteroid"/meteor hit. West or east coast gone would mean about 100 million people gone in a flash, and all financial, military and technological centers in the states gone.

It sits a queen (whores aren't usually royalty - denoting influence and power), but is not a widow (how America came to be a nation). It got (and will get) drunk off of the blood of the saints.

This prophecy... is pretty straight forward.

False religion. She is the opposite of the bride of Christ. The Rev 13:1 beast controls political, military and financial aspects of government.

Was it a false religion back in the days of Jesus and the Apostles that their City and Temple had to be destroyed?

    Hi Lamb

No it was not because Revelation is about Future events and it was written in 96AD long after Jerusalem was a pile of rubble. Not to worry though I am constructing a new thread so that everyone can see the truth of this matter.

Israel was, for all intents and purposes, set against God from day one and God was to the point of eradicating them on numerous occasions. The Israelites have absolutely nothing to do with Pauls warning in 2 Thessalonians nor are they, as a "chosen" people, the subject matter in Revelation; all must come to God through Christ. Thankfully, the ground at the foot of the cross of Calvary is completely level. Paul is clearly talking about the second coming of Christ. Furthermore, Paul is speaking/writing to the saints at Thessaloniki and he says the church will be led astray by lies. That is the fact of the matter.
Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; - 2 Thessalonians 2:1-3
There are zero prophecies, predictions or anything of the sort in Matthew 23, Jesus is simply condemning the "elite" Scribes and Pharisees. Those claiming to be the "most" religious but in reality were just the opposite.

The fact of the matter is all of Revelation is directed to the church and most of Revelation subject matter is the church gone astray.

Yes THEY WILL and it would behoove US ALL to think long and hard about that fact!!
Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

That has nothing to do with the Olivet discourse or Revelation. The Roman's punishing rebels Jews has nothing at all to do with Satan persecuting Christians in the end times.

9This calls for a mind with wisdom. The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits. 10They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for only a little while. 11The beast who once was, and now is not, is an eighth king. He belongs to the seven and is going to his destruction.

12“The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. 13They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast. 14They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings—and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”
Revelation was written about 66 AD under Emperor Nero during his persecution of Christians.

The 7 heads plus the beast Representing 8 Kaisers represents the dynasty of Julius Caesar. Although Rome survived the Jewish rebellion the Caesar Dynasty died out with Nero, Galba, Otho

so the Jewish war Destroyed both Jerusalem where Jesus was crucified as well as the dynasty of Julius Caesar. Which. Had authorized in carried out the crucifixion.

The 10 horns and 10. Subsequent Kings represent all of this Caesars, which ruled Rome after the Jewish war. Up until The Empire was converted to Christianity.
