I have a theoretical question. God decides to do roughly the same thing, so he has Jesus born ordinary (and thus he has a new name I might remind [Rev 3:12]) in a rather ordinary place and he acquires and is given every kind of wisdom that can be imparted by the Father and also the ability to evoke miracles but only of the kind he can identify, and in the modern age at the age of thirty-three he is tasked with making demonstration that he is heir to the throne with just the resources available to your average working stiff. Could he do it? Could he convince you without having benefit of obvious miracles?

Some would, some wouldn't. (Even with miracles.) We are no different than the people 2,000 years ago.

But although He had done so many signs before them, they did not believe in Him, that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke:

“Lord, who has believed our report?
And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?”

Therefore they could not believe, because Isaiah said again:

“He has blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts,
Lest they should see with their eyes,
Lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,
So that I should heal them.”

These things Isaiah said [f]when he saw His glory and spoke of Him.

I believe this is the correct response. I would then extend the hypothetical question in the following way. Assuming our theoretical Jesus is saying and doing things he knows should be sufficient demonstration for people to believe him yet they do not for one reason or another, and since this Jesus knows that at some preordained point limitations on him will be removed by the Father and the miracles of the end may ensue whereby the demonstration will be opened and closed for everyone but so too the window for accepting his account. Should Jesus have any right to be discontented with the Father's decision to not grant him the power of more obvious miracles in order to have saved those individuals with whom he would so graciously disclose himself to only to have them disbelieve?

I and the Father are one.

I like cats. Just thought I'd share that
That's good to know, it's hard to trust anyone who doesn't like cats. :cat:
