Here Are Five Global Restaurants Staffed By Robot Chefs

ADAM, an interactive robot bartender, barista and chef

A forecast by restaurant consultancy Aaron Allen & Associates suggests that as much as 82% of restaurant roles could potentially be supplanted by robots, with up to 31% of those roles being devoted to food preparation. This shift towards automation could yield substantial savings for U.S. fast-food establishments, estimated to exceed $12 billion annually, as projected by the group.

My daughter shared this article with me and the first thing I noticed was his name. They called him Adam. The second thing I noticed was the description. He's performing 3 jobs. To compute the financial gain you'd add the average salaries for all three. Baristas usually get tips as do servers. I'm curious to learn if that pattern will continue.

When people were advocating for higher wages they didn't realize they had this in the works or ready to go. Prices rose and spending has decreased. Many places are struggling because Americans can't afford to eat out. Olive Garden is bringing back its endless pasta bowl, dollar menus are returning and many restaurants are closing.

But the ones who survive have a solution. We saw robo servers during the pandemic. Now we have a 3-in-1 employee. When you tell people they're replacing you they don't believe it or hope it's false. That's why this thread exists. Things like this don't make the news.

Robots spend very little money compared to human workers.

Even if we factor in bigger profits to business owners, many don't spend in proportion to income. In Europe for example. That's one reason why they boosted their welfare system to keep the economy from crashing if lots of people are laid off their jobs. So the jobless can still live a normal life and have confidence to spend money.

Or the world can do like Japan did, negative interest rates so the rich will be forced to spend their money but still doesn't help those who gets laid off their jobs.

We need to follow Europe's example of their welfare system. It's the only way to prevent society descending into utter chaos when automation starts taking over most people's jobs.

Lol it might save the companies money but I highly doubt they’re going to pass that savings onto their customers. They’ll most likely pocket the money for themselves. I mean we saw prices skyrocket during Covid and afterwards they didn’t go back down, they still remained just a ridiculous as they were during the pandemic.

I don't think they'll pass them on either. Since UBI will be programmable maybe they'll include a food allowance that can only be used in restaurants and places like that.

You're correct about the prices too. I keep a lot of stuff in my cart on Amazon and they change often. I've been getting things out of the way as needed. I did a lot of large purchases during the pandemic because I sensed the increases. I'm doing the same on a smaller scale now for similar reasons.

That's what UBI is for.

No one believes that and they think it's fear mongering or a conspiracy. The only ones who know the truth are investors looking at the companies investing in this technology, the people working for the companies providing/creating it and the companies funding them. When you consider the numbers that isn't a lot.

UBI isn't like fiat currency. It's programmable and trackable. You'll have no privacy with your spending and cashless entities are growing.

I suspect that when these robots start being implemented in fast food restaurants it’ll start in California first because of the $20 per hour minimum wage increase earlier this year. Installing robots was the first thing the fast food chains in California said they were looking into because of the wage increase.

I think the measure was put in place to provide an excuse to do so. They created the problem that would allow them to find a cheaper option with little backlash.

Don't, however, think that higher wages are the drive behind automation or that automation would stop if wages were stagnant (wages have effectively been stagnant since the 70s, for that matter). There is always a market for a reduction in human labor, if for no other reason than eliminating the headache of dealing with human beings.

And white collar jobs will vanish more rapidly than blue collar jobs because automation to replace "data manipulators" (essentially just software) is far, far cheaper and much easier to implement.

This is for the company's benefit and shareholders not employees.

The list I found a few years ago revealed that. They were good jobs including physicians. I was listening to something a week ago and he said the A.I. was more accurate than the doctor and spotted more problems. Which they interpreted as better care.

Listened to a sermon prepared by Ai.which was requested by Nick Jones. Topic The role of Ai in the end times according to the book of Rev . Started off with Brothers and Sisters which sounded like a pastor or leader prepared it. The entire sermon was written from that perspective.. It provided the info requested and even Included comments like being prayful about the advancement of technology!

I heard one during the pandemic when they were introducing it to the public through an article. But I can't embrace it because I know too much about it and companies are eager to implement the technology to reduce their workforce and I can't get behind that. More importantly, we've seen the fallout of allowing things to think on our behalf. That's why a lot of kids struggle with math. That wasn't always the case when calculators weren't allowed and teachers acknowledged it.

I prefer to use my brain even if takes longer. The Most High gives me things all the time and He's not talking to A.I. nor has He recommended it. But I can understand its appeal to others.

Corporation terminates your employment on the basis that the robot is more effective than your whole department.

Person who loses job, uploads virus to Robot to refute.

Why do you think they'll be allowed to transmit the virus? I would expect them to have countermeasures against sabotage. Remember the scripture.

And his master commended the unjust manager [not for his misdeeds, but] because he had acted shrewdly [by preparing for his future unemployment]; for the sons of this age [the non-believers] are shrewder in relation to their own kind [that is, to the ways of the secular world] than are the sons of light [the believers].

Add at the end: "To the ways of the Spirit."
