• Welcome to Christian Forums
  1. Welcome to Christian Forums, a forum to discuss Christianity in a friendly surrounding.

Your voice is missing! You will need to register to be able to join in fellowship with Christians all over the world.

We hope to see you as a part of our community soon and God Bless!

  2. The forums in the Christian Congregations category are now open only to Christian members. Please review our current Faith Groups list for information on which faith groups are considered to be Christian faiths. Christian members please remember to read the Statement of Purpose threads for each forum within Christian Congregations before posting in the forum.
  3. Please note there is a new rule regarding the posting of videos. It reads, "Post a summary of the videos you post . An exception can be made for music videos.". Unless you are simply sharing music, please post a summary, or the gist, of the video you wish to share.
  4. There have been some changes in the Life Stages section involving the following forums: Roaring 20s, Terrific Thirties, Fabulous Forties, and Golden Eagles. They are changed to Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X, and Golden Eagles will have a slight change.
  5. CF Staff, Angels and Ambassadors; ask that you join us in praying for the world in this difficult time, asking our Holy Father to stop the spread of the virus, and for healing of all affected.
  6. We are no longer allowing posts or threads that deny the existence of Covid-19. Members have lost loved ones to this virus and are grieving. As a Christian site, we do not need to add to the pain of the loss by allowing posts that deny the existence of the virus that killed their loved one. Future post denying the Covid-19 existence, calling it a hoax, will be addressed via the warning system.
  7. There has been an addition to the announcement regarding unacceptable nick names. The phrase "Let's go Brandon" actually stands for a profanity and will be seen as a violation of the profanity rule in the future.

This Forum is a place for respectful discussion and debate of political issues, by Roman Catholics, in the context of the Roman Catholic Faith.

There was a telling moment, for the American Right, in Tucker Carlson’s interview with Kyle Rittenhouse. The 18-year-old had just been acquitted of murder charges for shooting three people, killing two, during riots last summer in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Carlson asked Rittenhouse whether he believed the government would protect him from threats he was receiving. “I hope so,” he said, “but we all know how the FBI works.”

You would expect that kind of statement from a “defund the police” advocate, but Rittenhouse is a former youth police cadet whose support for “Blue Lives Matter” was used to try and paint him as a racist and far-Right extremist. His world-weary cynicism about the FBI, expressed as Carlson nodded along approvingly, signals a major shift in a central axis of American politics.

I find it disturbing how quickly people latch on to a figurehead and run with it. Whether it be George Floyd or Rittenhouse.

Sorry. I just can't bring myself to do it. Not for Floyd. Not for Rittenhouse. Not even close. Joe Sixpack maybe. But even then, no.

I find it disturbing that "christians" can support the unrestrained killing of human beings who need to be saved, yet they will fight to bring the unborn into the world.

Every Christian has a right to self defense. It is one of the teachings of the Catholic Church.

I find it disturbing that 'christians' can support the unrestrained killing of human beings in abortion but will fight to save sea turtle eggs. Saving sea turtle eggs is a worthy thing but there is a disconnect in not fighting to protect humans too. Of any age when they are put in peril.

The Bible says that those who have never been are better off than those who are alive. I agree, considering all of the perverts and traffickers in the world today. But those who are alive need redemption before they die. I agree with you about the sea turtles though.

So the kid should have let them murder him then, because that was what was going to happen.

So it's better off for kids to be aborted? Is that a justification for abortion?

Well, what do you think the Bible means?
Ecc. 4: 2 And I declared that the dead,
    who had already died,
    are happier than the living,
    who are still alive.
    3 But better than both
is the one who has never been born,
who has not seen the evil
that is done under the sun. (NIV)

Kill the babies? Herod would approve. That's Bible.

It did not say kill the babies. But it did say that they are better off if they had not been born.

Such is the nature of sinful mankind. Killing is killing in the womb or out of the womb in "self defense".

Killing is killing. Agreed. But do you have any right to protect yourself? Or to protect others?
