The right selection pressure, and we would see "men" come from apes, *again*?

Natural processes that created themselves equal chance.
That is quite the stretch. You might as well say that God created himself, it is as valid of a claim as your strawman. Therefore you believe everything is equal to chance too.

If someone intelligent created everything that's no longer a chance happening. Why God exists is a separate question.

Nope, that is a special pleading fallacy.

And there appears to be no reliable evidence that a god created anything or even exists in the first place.

If you want to discuss this you need to be able to define the terms that you use and do so properly and consistently. You messed up. Just accept that and avoid the bad arguments in the future.

Lol, no I didn't "mess up".
Good grief.

But we don't know why matter behaves as it does.
Exactly. We don't know... but we know a lot and what we do know can tell us a lot about the universe.

In addition acknowledging that there are some unknowns doesn't make it reasonable to abandon everything we do know just because other ideas might appeal to our personal preferences and convictions.

If it is not repeatable, it is not scientific.
Therefore all murderers must go free. Since we can't repeat their crime as the victim is already dead there is no way we show how they did what they did. Not scientific, release them all.

I wonder, would the second emergence of mankind (from apes) be better than the first, or the same?
It would be better only if a lobotomy mutation became fixed.

While a second intellect species arising from modern apes wouldn't be exactly the same as, they'd probably be pretty similar.

The problem is that this would only be possible if humans weren't still using almost all the space on the Earth... and I can't imagine many scenarios that led to humanity's extinction leaving much of a world for new smarter apes.

(I doubt apes would live through anything that killed all humans in the first place).
