The richest states voted Democrat. The poorest states voted Republican.

There's definitely a push to take away second amendment rights by the Democrats. And just adding more regulations to every area of life. The virus has illustrated how the left is willing to take away constitutionally guaranteed rights.
all constitutional rights have limitations on them. you have the right to practice your religion as you see fit, you don't have the right to impose your religious beliefs onto others. you have the right to free speech, but libel and slander are still crimes. having laws that keep machine guns out of the hands of criminals isn't taking away second amendment rights.

As far as covid 19 goes part of me is all for saying that if someone is foolish enough to want ot walk ingot stadiums or mega churches filled with people then they should have the right and the gene pool will be better off for their choices... Except the idiots who do this are exposing their children to disease, they are spreading it and when they do get sick they take away resources that could be better spent. Worse those idiots who would be doing such things woudl be the first to sue the state while whining that the government didn't take steps to protect them.

Murdering children isn't a right. Neither is" marrying" your brother or sister or dog or a person of the same sex
or marrying someone of a different skin color? the right fought tooth and nail to deny people that freedom too and did so by saying the same sick and bigoted lie that it was the same as marrying an animal. YOu have every tight to choose to hate blacks or gays or Jews or whoever, but your your choice does not give you the right to deny rights and legal protection to others

You mean those who have attended liberal colleges... lots of people get educated right out of their common sense.
There's a difference between having a degree and being smart.
What in the world are "liberal colleges"??? Do you mean "liberal arts colleges"???

Since I moved from a blue state to a red state; I've never before had so much freedom. When people told me what I could do here; I thought that they were playing games with me. It took me a couple of years to realize that the shackles had come off.
I hear this kind of thing all the time but it's usually not the entire, real story. There are many details you leave out. One thing that's certain, though, is that your state does receive welfare money on the federal level and the benefit of that goes to you - in other words, blue states (which are far more productive) are funding your lower cost of living because red states are very unproductive and behind. In short, you benefit from socialism because the government redistributes wealth from wealthy blue state people like me to poorer, less productive red state people. If it weren't for this form of socialism most red states would collapse under their own weight.

For example, there were some contractors who attended my church. I asked how to navigate the ropes to getting a building permit here. Where I'm from, it's a big deal. Often they expect bribes to get one.

They asked me what I was building. I said a barn. I was told I didn't need a permit. I explained that this wasn't going to be a shed. It was going to be a large two story structure that you could park a full size truck in, and still have plenty of room to work on it, with electricity. One said, "build it." I said I don't want to get into any trouble. He asked, "it's your land; isn't it?" I said yes. He asked again, "you own it?" I said yes. He said, "it's your land; do what you want with it. Why ask for permission?"

You don't need permission to home school here. They're your children. The State can't force vaccines on your here. It's your body. You can shoot your guns on your property here, if it's done safely. Conceal and carry permit? Easier than getting a drivers license. There is no State income tax. As a matter of fact, political offices are a part time job here. The people here believe in small government.
I would not use contractors as legal advisors. I wonder if they'll represent you in court if you are caught without getting the right permits?

I also wonder if you think the "it's your land, build what you want" idea should apply to your neighbors if they decided to open things like pig slauhterhouses, after-hours gay nightclubs, toxic waste recycling centers, large factories, skyscrapers, etc. on their properties? Or do you think then all of a sudden there should be laws and permits and such to restrict them from building "whatever they want"???

It's their property, they should be able to do what they want.

It's their property, they should be able to do what they want.

That philosophy only works if your building something doesn’t impact anybody else.

Of course, that’s rarely the case.

So your neighbor can build the biggest gay nightclub in your state and you'd be perfectly fine with it? Or they could build a 40-story skyscraper and you'd be fine with it?

It's their property. If I don't like it I can move away.

Umm...will there be a commission or other bureaucratic agencies set up to “decide” just what, exactly, these things are?

But doesn't that already exist among the liberal left with political correctness of every kind in the educations systems? You're told what is appropriate to think and if you don't fall into absolute compliance you're called names and are cancelled out?

People aren't "indoctrinated" at college. They are challenged.

Well I do thank you for that Fantine. I needed a good belly laugh.

Learning is about assimilating the facts you receive and using them in your real life. It's the same in politics. I listen to Trump and think, "He's arrogant. He's self-involved. He's inarticulate. He's mean and nasty.

Being self-involved doesn't bother me. Neither does being a tad bit egotistical.....those very things can motivate someone to spend much time to the job getting things right for they want to have a good legacy of accomplishments. Even being on the appearance nasty....nope....doesn't totally bother me either depending on what it is. Would I rather have a group of politicians that know how to speak all the sweet words using them with much diplomacy and yet they sell out the nation? Nope. That's being mean and nasty in a cloaked way. Least with Trump you have transparency.

He's unlikeable.

People at his rallys are calling out we love you. So how can you say he's unlikable ? Perhaps because they see a bigger picture than you? See below,

Are you really criticizing the "liberal left" for being compassionate? Sorry, but it's the misguided right wing that is trying to enforce the truth (as they see it) in the schools, even though it's not the whole truth. I'm not sure what you're ethnicity is, but insulting people because of their religious, ethnic origin, skin color, etc. is NOT Christian.

Jesus was crucified because he didn't fit into their concept of who he should be.

With Trump you have transparency?? His sole goal is to remain in power; he will say/do ANYTHING to achieve his aims.
