I thought I had heard it all :sigh:

How do you come up with such nonsense as this? The earth had a begining and it will have an end, as does the others you have mentioned.
Prove it. I say God is moving here forever, it will never end, just this present state it is in.
The sun and earth is forever. Check out the bible sometime.

The bible says God created the heavens and the earth. [in other words there was a begining] It also says heaven and earth shall pass away. [in other words they have an end] Perhaps you should check it out yourself.

As for God moving here

Ps 104:5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be
removed for ever.

The surface of earth will be burned, but the foundations are forever. Glad to be the one to break the news to you.
-As well as the moon, and sun, and stars.

Psalms 72: 17 His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continuedas long as the sun: and men shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
Ps 89:36 His seed shall endure for ever, and his throne as the sun before me.
Ps 89:37 It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful
witness in heaven. Selah.

Psalm 148: 3 Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light. 4 Praise him, ye heavens of heavens, and ye waters that be above the heavens.
5 Let them praise the name of the LORD: for he commanded, and they were created. 6 He hath also stablished them for ever and ever: he hath made a decree which shall not pass.

I kid you not.

As for God moving here
Better slap that thing again, here it is from the bible.

Rev 21: 3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God

Well, your perception of age is based no on how it looks to the eye, but a set of assumptions used to so called date it.

So you think those assumptions are wrong? If they were, then how come they also explain the workings of the sun?
If they are wrong, how come all of the chronologies, each working from different assumptions and methods, all line up?

Faced with this evidence, I'm going to need a reason to believe that the assumptions are wrong.

Because the age is only in the perceptions of man, not real time. As for mature plants, if they could grow in days back then, that is no problem.
Can you provide any kind of reference to back up your claim that plants could fully mature in just a few days?
Otherwise, what is presented without evidence will be dismissed without evidence.
And most probably laughed at.

Funny how you trust science to make your computer, the electricity that powers your home, nuclear power, x-rays and medical science - but dismiss radio-isotope dating because it gives the bible a hard time.
Lets be clear on this, you have no other reason to mistrust science other than religious belief.
Yet you accept the theory of gravity, probably without any real idea of how it works - only the observation that it does.

Interesting choice.
Note how it says he will be the god of man.
Maybe someone should have told the muslims, pagans, budhists, etc etc.
Shame how their only crime is to have been born to the wrong parents and brought up in the wrong faith.
Oh, and the next time I read in a journal about the life span of our sun, I'll write in and tell them they've got it wrong. OK?

And so it goes with creationists beating their heads on the wall trying to make their interpretations of the Bible seem real.

Get this dad... the earth is not forever... the sun is not forever. These are facts you can't escape. If your deity created them it created them in this temporary form.

So are you trying to tell me that the bible contradicts itself? You do know that there is no Hebrew word that means forever right? Do you also know that Jonah refers to the time he spent in the whale as forever in the English translation right?

So you can choose to believe Jesus was wrong when he said that heaven and earth shall pass away in favor of a poor translation or you can open your eyes and see the truth. This world will end of that you can be sure the only questions are when and how.

And you derive from this that God is moving here. Perhaps you should read the rest of the bible. John tells us that he who dwells in love dwells in God and God in him. It has nothing to do with a physical location.

My reasons are fairly well known on this forum, no use getting into all that here. The dating methods all are set to the same basic assumptions, so they must have the same time. Where it is different, they simply tweak it anyhow, in something called collaboration. (Setting it to the other clocks)

Yes, bible evidence. Plants were made just a few days before we and animals were made, and we ate them. Also Noah sent a bird out, -no tree. A week later, voila, a tree twig.

Funny how you trust science to make your computer, the electricity that powers your home, nuclear power, x-rays and medical science - but dismiss radio-isotope dating because it gives the bible a hard time.

Science is fine. You just need to keep it in it's little present place.

Lets be clear on this, you have no other reason to mistrust science other than religious belief.
I do not mistrust science at all. Just the two bit fables posing as science, that run around crossing God, and bad mouthing the truths of the bible past and future. That shoddy little act should cease and desist.

Yet you accept the theory of gravity, probably without any real idea of how it works - only the observation that it does.
Tell, us how, precisely does gravity work?!!! (Not what does it do, but how it works)
Once you do that, then the tricky part comes in. Prove it used to operate the same way.

Interesting choice.
Note how it says he will be the god of man.
Maybe someone should have told the muslims, pagans, budhists, etc etc.
No worries, all will know, and every knee will bow. Those who survive into that golden age, likely will be honestly unaware, not deliberate liars.

Shame how their only crime is to have been born to the wrong parents and brought up in the wrong faith.
That is no crime. The crime is to love darkness rather than light, not have a weak light at the start of their life. All should get their opportunity to hear about Jesus in a real way.

Oh, and the next time I read in a journal about the life span of our sun, I'll write in and tell them they've got it wrong. OK?
Absolutely. Dead wrong, bet your life on it. Thanks, I am a little busy to mop up the mess personally.

No, why would I get that silly baseless lie?? You have neither science nor bible for it. The tooth fairy out ranks that one.

How long is everlasting, then?? As for Jonah, as Jesus Personally confirmed, it was 3 days.

So you can choose to believe Jesus was wrong when he said that heaven and earth shall pass away in favor of a poor translation or you can open your eyes and see the truth. This world will end of that you can be sure the only questions are when and how.
No, but one can understand what it means. This present universe, or heavens is all that will pass away. The surface of the earth gets burned just before the new heavens arrive, but the foundations of the earth are fine, thank you very much. They are forever. Really.

And you derive from this that God is moving here. Perhaps you should read the rest of the bible. John tells us that he who dwells in love dwells in God and God in him. It has nothing to do with a physical location.
False, there is a spiritual, and physical location, called New Jerusalem. His throne is there, and so is He. Jesus prepared that place for us, and it has many mansions. A river of life, the tree of life, as Eden had, and all the same folks that lived right here on this forever earth!! It cannot be spiritualized away, it is absolute. It separates the sheep, from the goats, in the faith department.

Everlasting means without end. What we have is a poor translation where the original documents use a word that does nto mean ever lasting nor forever nor eternity yet have been translated as such and as a result many like you have the wrong idea as to what it means. The word generally specifies a period of time long in general but related to the object of the sentence. We see numerous examples throughout the bible where it can be a few days, years, centuries, eons. The thing that is totally clear is that it is not absolute and has no definite time in the word itself.

We use the word forever this same way in everyday speech and everyone knows that we do not mean forever at all but that we refer to a long time compared to the subject at hand. To say I was stuck in the checkout line forever might mean several minutes. To say I've lived here forever might refer to several years. To say the mountians have been here forever would refer to eons and the word in the bible is used the same way. Only the blind insist that it must mean forever.

What's more Jesus explicitly says that the earth shall pass away. So either Jesus was wrong or you are. Science tells us that the earth will pass away, the exact cause and time are unknown but it will happen of that you can be sure.

No, but one can understand what it means. This present universe, or heavens is all that will pass away. The surface of the earth gets burned just before the new heavens arrive, but the foundations of the earth are fine, thank you very much. They are forever. Really.
One, earth is part of the universe. If the universe passes away so does earth. Two, the bible explicitly states that the earth shall pass away and that a new earth shall be formed. Three, as already pointed out the word translated as forever does not in any case literally mean forever but when speaking of the earth does entail a great deal of time, billions of years to be sure.

Wrong, the entire book of revelation is symbolic and metaphor you err to take it literally as for the sheep and the goats they are not divided by blind belief in nonsese but rather by thier heart and if they have cared for thier fellow man when needed.

Well known to be non-existent.

No, dad. No. The results corroborate each other on their own.

Also, the assumptions on their own do not yield any kind of results. It turns out that the different methods would give wildly different results if the assumptions are wrong.

So the assumptions are right.
