And you have concluded that the majority doesn't even believe in the resurrection?
Sounds like you are a goat herder.
I'm to preach the gospel to the lost and at its CORE is the Bodily Resurrection of Jesus as per 1 Corinthians 15.

Are you claiming the poll isn't biased?
Anyone knows that the majority of Christians do in fact believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The creed is common among nearly ALL Christian churches.
thats the point of a poll like this as its unbiased.

How can you claim it is unbiased when it depends on doctrinal hair-splitting and loaded questions? (your opinion about the nature of Christ's resurrection body) A very debatable and little understood aspect, that is then used to claim that the majority of Christians don't believe in the resurrection. (per the headline) Simply not true.

there is no "doctrinal " hairsplitting.

Either Jesus has a real body ( resurrection) or not

Either Jesus is God or He is not

Either Jesus is a man or He is not.

It is BLACK and WHITE no room for GREY.

These are ESSENTIAL TRUTHS of salvation. No room for error, They are Salvific in nature the same goes with the GOSPEL.

There are false gospels, false christs, false teachers, false doctrines.

One better know how to discern the TRUTH from a LIE.

A persons salvation is at stake.

hope this helps !!!

I strongly disagree. Definitely doctrinal hair-splitting.
Here is what the Creed says about Christ.
Nothing about the body that was resurrected.
So, no one's salvation is at stake over your personal opinion.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.

its right there read your post it is bold-underlined above. now these Creeds agree with me as well.

Chalcedon (451 AD)
Following, then, the holy fathers, we unite in teaching all men to
confess the one and only Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. This selfsame
one is perfect both in deity and in humanness; this selfsame one is
also actually God and actually man, with a rational soul <meaning
human soul> and a body. He is of the same reality as God as far as
his deity is concerned and of the same reality as we ourselves as
far as his humanness is concerned; thus like us in all respects, sin
only excepted. Before time began he was begotten of the Father, in
respect of his deity, and now in these "last days," for us and behalf
of our salvation, this selfsame one was born of Mary the virgin, who
is God-bearer in respect of his humanness.

We also teach that we apprehend this one and only Christ-Son, Lord,
only-begotten -- in two natures; and we do this without confusing
the two natures, without transmuting one nature into the other,
without dividing them into two separate categories, without con-
trasting them according to area or function. The distinctiveness
of each nature is not nullified by the union. Instead, the
"properties" of each nature are conserved and both natures concur
in one "person" and in one reality <hypostasis>. They are not
divided or cut into two persons, but are together the one and
only and only-begotten Word <Logos> of God, the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thus have the prophets of old testified; thus the Lord Jesus
Christ himself taught us; thus the Symbol of Fathers <the Nicene
Creed> has handed down to us.

The Athanasian Creed- 500 ad

But it is necessary for eternal salvation
that one also believe in the incarnation
of our Lord Jesus Christ faithfully.

Now this is the true faith:

That we believe and confess
that our Lord Jesus Christ, God's Son,
is both God and human, equally.

He is God from the essence of the Father,
begotten before time;
and he is human from the essence of his mother,
born in time;
completely God, completely human,
with a rational soul and human flesh;
equal to the Father as regards divinity,
less than the Father as regards humanity.

Although he is God and human,
yet Christ is not two, but one.
He is one, however,
not by his divinity being turned into flesh,
but by God's taking humanity to himself.
He is one,
certainly not by the blending of his essence,
but by the unity of his person.
For just as one human is both rational soul and flesh,
so too the one Christ is both God and human.

He suffered for our salvation;
he descended to hell;
he arose from the dead;
he ascended to heaven;
he is seated at the Father's right hand;
from there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
At his coming all people will arise bodily
and give an accounting of their own deeds.
Those who have done good will enter eternal life,
and those who have done evil will enter eternal fire.

This is the catholic faith:
one cannot be saved without believing it firmly and faithfully.

hope this helps !!!

My argument has never been against the resurrection, only your hair-splitting about the type of body Jesus had when he was raised from the dead, which is NOT addressed in the creeds.

You do recall that he could walk through walls, correct?

Where does the bible say

Jesus walked through walls ?

Thats a JW argument lol.

Philip and Jesus appear and disappear.

Those who deny the physical material resurrected body of Jesus who is now in heaven as a man in a body claim He is now a spirit because He can appear at will before the disciples. Philip proves that it is a supernatural work of God in a physical material body. Jesus will forever remain both God and man in a physical material body. Paul said if Christ be not risen then your faith is in vain and you are still in your sins(a lost sinner).

Acts 8:38-40

38 And he ordered the chariot to stop; and they both went down into the water, Philip as well as the eunuch, and he baptized him. 39 When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; and the eunuch no longer saw him, but went on his way rejoicing. 40 Philip, however, appeared at Azotus and traveled about, preaching the gospel in all the towns until he reached Caesarea.

Here you go. How did Jesus get in?

John 20:19
On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”

John 20:26
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!”

read my previous post for your answer, how did Philip go from the eunuch's baptism in one city to Azotus instantly ?

Are you claiming that Jesus didn't walk through walls?
(more hair-splitting, I suppose) Will you claim that I am still "lost in my sins"? - lol

Where does the bible say

Jesus " walked through walls "

Which of the four gospels ?
What verse ?

Did any of the Apostles in their writings say Jesus " walked through walls" ?

Why do you believe what is not written in Gods word and make assumptions ?

I know why its because someone taught you that but you never fact checked it with Scripture.

hope this helps !!!

I'm not hair spilling and everything I've said in this thread regarding Jesus remaining fully man( human with a real body) is backed up by the Creeds and Scripture. The church has also maintained this exact belief throughout the centuries. Its the biblical and historical position of believers since His Resurrection.

Another forum I was on had the longest running thread ever which I started that was on the Bodily Resurrection where there were many professing christians who denied His physical, bodily Resurrection/Ascension. That is what the jehovah witnesses believe as well that Jesus rose a spiritual being reverting back to His pre-Incarnate form ie spirit. I believe at last count there were well over 100,000 responses over a 10 year period. They had to repost the thread every 6 months or so with only the last 100 replies and restart the thread. So I'm very familiar with every objection there is on the Resurrection from the cults, agnostics, atheists, so-called christians etc......

hope this helps !!!

Once again, this proves my point.
You were using your own doctrinal hair-slitting to claim that these Christian do not believe in the resurrection. Basing your claim on the state of Jesus resurrection body. Which is a highly debatable subject, and does not discount a person's belief in the resurrection. You are also assuming that Jehovah's Witnesses are not Christians. Not sure you can make a blanket claim like that.
