I am 15 weeks pregnant and my baby is very healthy with a strong heart beat..

but at 8 weeks, when the dr. went to look at the baby on an ultrasound the first time, they discovered that my left ovary is very enlarged.
A specialist last week confirmed this... a fluid filled cyst centimeters wide that has a bit of solid material in it.
More than likely it is benign.
Where it worries me is that they want it removed... like ovary and all. Probably sooner rather than later.
I don't want to endanger the unborn baby or deal with time off my new job for recovery...
I am praying that it can shrink.
Or at least not grow any more.
Because if it gets too big and causes pain, it can't wait until
September to come out.

My wife had cysts also during pregnancy. You are right not to rush into anything with surgery. Definitely get a second opinion. It didn't cause her any problems and had several over the years.
Praying for you and the precious baby, God bless you both

Praying sister! If you have not already done so perhaps a second opinion from another OBYGYN is in order.

Its impossible to make any recommendations/suggestions that may agree or disagree with your obstetrician-gynecologist's diagnosis. They know your medical history and any current symptoms you're experiencing.

You haven't mentioned anything about a CT Scan or MRI, so I would assume they've already ruled out cancer. My guess is that the cyst poses a possible significant complication(ovarian torsion is one that comes to mind) to you and/or your pregnancy and that the specialist deems it necessary for it to be removed in light of your symptoms and the results of your ultrasound.

I suggest you contact their office and have them answer any questions you may have. They are obligated to do this. Some of these doctors & specialists have a habit of hurrying patients through their office, and in my opinion, don't explain things thoroughly enough to them.

Prayers going out for encouragement that all will be fine either way ( surgery or not ). Amen .

I think all three of my daughters had cyst problems with their ovaries and one to the point of lot's of repeated pain as the cysts ( multi) would flare up. All carried full term with no problems, and two more than once, in fact one had 4 children, the second had 3, all the while having this issue.. Their kids are all adults now except my youngest daughter who's son will be 15yo in May.. Your doctors probably want to do this now before you are further along and then should it turn painful or complicated it becomes more complication to do the surgery ( just a guess). Also should it abscess, you have a whole new ball of wax then ( I have an abscessed cyst right now that tried to go septic on me, that has been a bear to deal with, though I don't have ovaries LOL). I would find out what their exact concerns are personally and prognosis post surgery for both you and your baby.. get all the details and make your best choice. God be with you.

I can understand your concern, friend. Like the others suggested, please make sure you get a second opinion before agreeing to any surgery. I’ll be praying for you, asking the Lord to touch you with His healing hand and bless you with a safe and healthy pregnancy. God’s best to you!

Father, You have cured or reduced such things so many times in the past. I ask You to do this for this one as well. May the cure always be remembered and past on to her child as a testimony of Your grace, love, and plans for their lives, all to Your glory. Amen.
