The police are fed up.

The way I see it the police are fed up with never seeing positive results from their work, and the abuse they suffer at the hands of the people they are sworn to protect. No wonder they themselves are often abusive. If anyone is to blame for the current crisis it is those who write the ineffective laws and programs that do little to reduce crime.

If the police don't like doing their jobs, they can seek other employment. That's what everyone else is told to do, no? Retraining, right?

But I agree with part of your post. If we had high wages and universal employment, we would have way, way less crime.

People are forced to become police officers against their will? Wal-Mart is hiring, you will get tons of respect working there!

If I had to make that choice it would be Wal-Mart. :D

They do. Turnover is a big problem.

What do you mean by ineffective laws and programs?

There are no effective programs for restitution and rehabilitation. Offenders leave prison no better than when they went in, often worse.

And let's not forget all the people who go to prison for nothing.

I agree oldwiseguy. Seen..know the numbers. We see those numbers not being talked about.

We show them.. the light. We show them.. we love our enemy. We show them..that God didn't send His son to condemn the world but to save it. We pray help ALL! We do what the world won't.

A song playing now "War of Change" "Thousand foot Krutch". The closer Christ is coming.. the enemy is reacting. I don't think most Christians really understand how this world really is. None of them are good. If they are not for Christ.. they are against Him. I will say countless are blind.. Jesus said..if you were blind you would have no sin.

ME.. if you asked me.. I would say.. I believe .. this is just personal. The USA is all that stands in the way of the lawless one. I believe..GOD FORBID ..we have to fall. To have a one world order. BUT..someone of this world during the tribulation comes to help Israel.. so .. I don't know

The USA is all that stands in the way of the lawless one.

Only if you basically ignore the existence of the rest of the world. Sheesh.

More on topic to the thread, I'm sure that there are, in fact, positive outcomes from police work. If they're being lost sight of, then that's an issue.

But there is no excuse for abuse. None. Not ever.

No wonder they themselves are abusive? Let's blame the ineffective laws and programs?

Your arsenal of excuses for law enforcement is endless. Meanwhile you've been refusing to admit the systematic criminalization of black Americans, attempting to undermine their entire movement against police brutality because of their own crimes. Just pointing out the irony.

I pulled this table out of a Victorian Government website. The figures are for 2019.

I was aware that the US had a high incarceration rate but didn't realise how high. At 655 people in prison for every 100,000 of population the US has the highest incarceration rate in the world.

Are Americans that much more criminal or is something else going on here?
