CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I haven't gotten the chance to play Episode 2 yet, but will probably buy it this weekend (at which point I probably won't be leaving the game room for a few days! LOL).
The game I am really waiting for is the new third party mod of the original Half-Life. It is going to be called Black Mesa and is supposed to be a completely faithful re-creation of the original game, but using Half-Life 2 graphics, physics, and technology. This was prompted by complaints from fans that Half-Life Source just doesn't deliver.

When I've played, most of the time the guys are very tactical, and I I've yet to find a game that's made me upset with the game or the community. Although, I'm sure there are some are plenty matches filled with 10 year-olds screaming curse words and asking where all the weapons are.

Well I will say that the community is pretty good. It was brought up "has anyone come across any girls at all in TF2?", but there was some language, but it was all regarding the game. Not in profane ways, if that's possible considering the words themselves. But that's different from the game itself, which I still think ain't that great.

In the past week I've put easily 40+ hours into TF2. I absolutely LOVE it. Back in the day, I was also addicted to Team Fortress Classic. That was by far and away the my most played multiplayer game.
This is a game that takes coordination and strategy and teamwork to win at. A team that works well together will walk all over an unorganized team. I've found most matches to be very mature (suprisingly), with some good players. Class based MP isn't everyones cup of tea, but it is certainly my favorite type. My favorite class is the spy. With that class, havok can be wreaked upon the enemy team. Played well, it is a devastating class. I

I hate to admit it but I'm addicted to TF2. I still hate it, whether it's the headache-inducing cartoony graphics or the overly one-sided capture points maps, or the absurdly long respawn time, but I can't stop playing. It's probly for the achvs though. So if ya want, add me on Live and we can try for a couple wins.

I don't really play online FPS very often-- the games are overrun with folks who do nothing but play online, ALL [wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth][wash my mouth] DAY! They always score head-shots on me with one shot, even when I am running a serpentile and jumping around. I guess I just stink at it, but, I don't have the hours upon end to reach a level of skill that matches those folks.
HL2 is easily my favorite game ever (I am playing through the singleplayer story for my tenth or elventh time). Episode I was to oshort and I didn't really think it introduced much of anything new. Some better lighting effects and whatnot, but otherwise, it was a five hour continuation of HL2. Episode II is the bomb-bizzle though-- that whole game is worth it just for the last level, the open-ended one in the valley where you have to stop the armies of Striders coming to destroy the White Forest base. The outdoor environments in this game were sick too.
