That would be my wife's choice too. I suggested we go to Colorado as a marijuana tourist. She is not so keen on the idea. It has probably been 6 years since I last encountered an opportunity to have a smoke. I think it is enjoyable in moderation.

I'm not much of a "chatty" person when it comes to smalltalk sort of things. I also took a break from CF for a few weeks. Maybe also the knowledge that this forum is regularly invaded by people who are not even remotely liberal with the intention to shoot down anything that they find disagreeable and start up arguments could be a factor.

That's why I was wondering about a hypothetical "better place to chat." And I agree with you about small talk. I was using the word "chat" very broadly.

I’ve pretty much given up much other than political postings. A combination of the membership and the rules seem to result in less than a critical mass of mainstream Christians.

Yeah, I tend to agree. This doesn't seem to be the best place for liberal Christians unfortunately. I have no clue where everybody is though, must be some secret club I don't know about.

Oh, I see. I'm the kind of person who would rather not get into arguments so I have been mostly hanging out in the Fellowship and Games section.

That's kind of the problem with this group. Someone can state something so harmless as, "Water is healthy," and someone else is just waiting to jump in with, "Die, commie!" and then go make conspiracy posts in all the conservative forums that the "liberals" are plotting a socialist takeover using water distribution systems.

Well, not really, but it does seem that way sometimes.

The reality is probably closer to most people just waiting for other people to post something.

I have made myself a nice cup of oolong tea... enough caffeine to stay awake through the afternoon but not enough for heart jitters. All alone at the cafe, I contemplate the meaning of life and an existence wasted on the sins of my youth.

As to what was said earlier, there does not seem to be anywhere on the net with lots of liberal Christians... and I think, perhaps, the concept "liberal Christian" has to be very carefully and narrowly defined so as to not contradict itself out of existence. Sure, it is possible and it can be done. But how many are going to do this? It must exist in the same sense as Christian Goth... as a unique rarity not often encountered.

I've had my one hot drink with caffeine, which I actually take before each day, while I am up and it is cold still at night before that is over. Again, not like others. In many ways I am not. Though I am choosing much healthier ways than the others, in general.

I think there are safe places for communication, other than this special forum place in CF. I remember there was once Jesus Radicals with their forum, they were not conservative. They changed it not thinking their forum would still have value, which it did when I found it. And they have a site by another name since. How to find each other where communication is possible without a link, as I think links are not allowed? I don't know, but is sharing email accounts allowed?

It is not like I would agree with others, here or anywhere. I think things out too independently and have many different conclusions from those of any others. I still have Bible verses I take into account for those things. Others saying they believe the Bible will say, those things can be disregarded because of these other verses they can use. But my disagreement is that their passages, whether in context but very often not taken in context, do not negate the other passages I make note of, with the different conclusions. This is general, in almost anything. So I can trip over others' obstacles in many things here.
